Update-y-ness!
Well, Matt and I went to C-U Saturday afternoon, the 2nd. We got there and went to Empire for good Chinese food. Mmmm... VERY good. :D Tyler met us there and followed us back to Megan's for belly dance. I got to meet Megan's new guy Dan and Misty's guy Rich (if I remember correctly...), and I saw Diana and Nelson for like, 2 seconds as they ran out the door. It was funny, how similar some of the things that Megan and I are going through right now, heh. Souls sisters, indeed.
We'd lost Misty thorugh some strange misunderstanding, so it was just Megan and I doing choreography. We took Tyler, Matt and Dan over to the Refinery, since Megan has keys now ;). We kicked that dance's ASS, getting it done in something like 2 hours, if that. The boys said it even looks pretty good ;). So the dance for Robyn's reception is done. Now people just need to learn it, heh.
After that Siebert and his girl Katie came over, and we all just chilled, chatting and watching Animaniacs. It was so old school C-U, and it felt really good. It was even good to see S'Mores and the cats again. I miss my peeps, yo ;).
Early Sunday Matt and I went to the Walnut Street Tea Co, but of COURSE it being a small town a lot of the stores there were not open on Sunday. Poo. After that we went and hung out with Michelle for something like 2 hours. It was totally awesome to catch up with her, see a pic of her guy, and just chill. Felt good. AND we took her to Jarling's Custard Cup, where I got my FAVE custard in the whole world - a pumpkin pie snowstorm. *dies* It was SO good. I really needed that.
After all that we got ready and packed up the car, then it was off to Kayti and Ryan's wedding!
It was funny... we knew we'd know people there, but we had NO clue who was actually going to be there! Heh. Matt and I sat with J-Vo and Cindy, Jon and his girl Kelly (? - I think) and Ned. Brian was standing up in the wedding, as was Amity and Heidi and John did a reading. :D I got to hang with Liss, Leia, Jimmy, Stef, Solon, Ward, Matras... old skool and hella cool ;). Brian swept me off my feet on the dance floor - that was so much fun!! And we got to hear Kayti's brother Nathan perform, which was as always TOTALLY amazing.
It was a lovely wedding. Ceremony was short and sweet. The speeches were good. Food was... C-U catering, but in a good way ;). The cake was WAY yummy! The DJ music was... kinda eh, but I got to dance with Kelly and Matt to "The Bad Touch", so THAT was totally fun, hehe.
Good food, good friends, happy wishes - all in all it was a lovely evening. We did book kinda early, but so did many of the people we knew anyway, so that kinda worked out. Matt had to work at 9am Monday, so we figured getting home by 12:30am was a GOOD idea ;). I even got to see Dave when we got back, so that was like an added bonus to an already awesome day :D.
I worked Mon and Tues, it was... work. ;P Tuesday Deanne approached me with a proposition - There's no one right now to work Wed overnights, because the normal overnight, Kristy, has class. SO, she wants me to work them, in exchange for my Sat shifts. She knows I teach belly dance, so I don't have to start until 10pm Weds. I was kinda o_O about it, but it SHOULD only be until December, so I told her I can do it.
My new schedule is: Sundays 5:30pm-5:30am, Mondays and Tuesdays 8pm-5:30am and Wednesdays 10pm-5:30am. So you know.
As far as I know I'm to start this week, which is kinda sucky since that means I work 5 days in a row. BUT looking at the schedule it's not all written in right yet - I'll talk to Deanne Mon prolly. But, as far as I know, that's it for the next 4 months. Then, in theory, back to my normal every other Sat, no Wed schedule.
Wed was belly dance. We had the lovely Renee join us, so it was Stef, Missy, Lisa, Kathleen, Kelly, and Renee this week. We actually kicked a lot of ass, doing all kinds of drills and things, and I was pretty sore on Thursday.
Thursday after Matt got home we went to Geneva to hang out with Aaron, Renee, Grace, Sven, Angie, Liss and Toad. We had Wendy's, then went out to Baker's Square for pie. It was yummy, and super fun to catch back up with them.
Friday was Demon game with Matt, Dave, Andy and Laurel. I think we had a pretty good time. We all ate at Kitchen Bar first, which was SUPER yummy. Then I ran for them. It's going kinda slow right now, but people are getting grips on their characters still, so it's been a bunch of role-playing to find their places. I'm enjoying it, though I need to concretely flesh out my plot some more. Demon is the bomb ;).
AND... work today. Dave surprised me with a ride to work today, so that was pretty shiny (Matt was in Chicago). It's been a VERY weird shift, and I don't think it's going to change. Had a few animals that got sent home earlier today show up dead tonight, had a CRAZY woman threaten to kill us when we would not give back her impounded dog, had people more or less walk out without paying (their check was code 1 declined) AMA no less, had some strange phone calls... it shows that the full moon was only a couple days ago... o_O
