Sept and half of Oct ;)
Where have I been? I don't even know, heh. Sometimes it's just really hard to keep up, to do and to write and to remember. I dunno... I'm here ;).
I appear to have missed all of Sept. Sept brought me a NASTY sinus infection unrivaled in pain, beaten only by the 3-month-long viral infection I had back at CRL. This one was only like 2 weeks long :P.
Work's been fine. Good days and bad, but nothing big enough to report. Overall I still love my job. Last week was National Vet Tech week, so VSC fed us all week. It was good :).
Devin had her first day of school Sept 8th *tear*. She was super good and loves going. It is just 2 hours and 15 minutes Tues and Thurs. Full of win.
Hemorrhaging monies, as per usual. A couple hundred on the car, something similar on Dev's birthday. Nothing BAD. Just... stuff. The stuff that always pops up :P.
LOTS of belly dance things have been brewing. Sept 17th was the Tonic audition, and now I've gone from a troupe of 1 to a troupe of 3 :D. It is GREAT news. AND... we've got a TON of performances coming up in Nov. Piper's Gothla is Nov 5th, and there's a student showcase Nov 13th (I'm trying to trade work shifts for it!) and another tribalance hafla Nov 19th. VERY exciting. But the planning, choreo, practices and costuming is a LOT of work. Worth it, just a little stressful. Sept 24th was Midwest Tribal Mafia. I took a Steampunk dance workshop with Akasha, then Dev and I went to the show that night. Super fun <3.
October brings me... a FOUR YEAR OLD.
I still can't get over it. Not only is she not an infant anymore... she's not a TODDLER anymore either o_O. On the morning of her birthday she gathered up all of her pacis and threw them away, on her own, without prompting. SO proud. She uses words like "acceptable" and "misunderstood" correctly. She comes up with her own ideas like cutting up a bagel and dipping it in apple butter ("butter jelly" as she calls it) for breakfast. She has her own opinion now, picking clothes, books, games, shows. She even picked out the above dress!! "THIS is my picture dress" she said <3. She's into SO many things, loves art, ever the dancer. She can name the whole core Justice League and most of the Avengers ;). I know I've not really done a state of the Devin update in years... I should. She is a little *person* now, creative and alert, active and brilliant. She's still a 4-year-old, tantrums and boundary pushing and REFUSING to poop on the potty... but she's just an amazing little personality and I am truly blessed to be able to guide this little life, watch her grow and explore the world with her <3.
On her birthday proper we spent the day at Legoland, then had a lovely dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. Her party was the 8th, and it was a SMASHING success. She was an Asian Warrior princess, "like Mulan" :). So... I was an Amazonian warrior princess ;). GREAT fun. Lots of friends, and they tore this place up proper. Erika made her cupcakes to DIE for. It was awesome.
The 11th we took all those amazing portraits :D. Wed we chilled at home, cleaning up her room and I had troupe practice that night. Thurs we went to Legoland, exchanged her one repeat gift, got comics, and I went to belly dance class. And today should have been her 4 year check up and Oksana's birthday party, but she apparently slept wrong and had a bad neck cramp, where she couldn't look right and cried whenever she moved. So her well kid appt became a sick appt, and she was prescribed Motrin and rest. So today ended up as a staying in bed day. I treated her to Ben & Jerry's on the way home, then she napped and I watched Thor (AMAZING!!! WANT!!! SO psyched for The Avengers!!!). When she woke we just snacked and Netflixed the day away. She's in bed now, and I'm watching Thor once more before I send it back <3.
And... speaking of comics... Sept I found myself caught up on my comics for the first time since Jan. The car accident set me back and it took me this long to catch back up. DC's The New 52 was good motivation to REALLY catch up so I could be current on all of the NEW happenings. Not to mention X-Men's Schism, which I almost missed cause I was originally so far behind. Need to play with the pull list some, but overall it feels REALLY good to be caught back up <3. I'm already looking forward to C2E2... hehehe.
So... that's it for now in a nutshell. Got a couple extra shifts coming up. A few birthday parties. Legoland playdate with friends. <3 More soon, my pretties.
