Day One... o_O

Try to keep your imagination in perspective now because you know how serious life will get in the weeks ahead. It's challenging to give up control when you know there must be something you could be doing that will improve the situation. Still, it's an excellent idea to enjoy yourself and take advantage of the opportunity to play. No doubt, it will be easier to return to work if you give yourself time to relax.

It's been a GREAT weekend. Thursday night ater work Devin and I drove from Schaumburg to Washington, close to Peoria. When we got there the girls ran around like CRAZIES :D. It was kind of adorable.
Friday Liz treated me to a haircut as my X-Mas gift. I've not gotten a haircut in something like 2 and a half years... so it was definitely a needed treat :). She got us a chai and a hot chocolate too :D. After playing at the house for a while we all went to her local mall. The Wards had their family pictures scheduled, so Dev and I played at the studio while they got their pics, then Matt took little Henry home while Liz, Helen, Vivian, Dev and I went to Build a Bear. It was pretty fun there :D. After that we just played more, very sweet.
Friday morning we all went to Liz's local Kroger. We got to pet reindeer (they had three beautiful little fawns, 2 were 4 months old and 1 was 6 months old) and Devin saw Santa. I kinda thought it was WAY too early to be seeing Santa... but oh well. Devin had NO interest in sitting on his lap, but she did tell him from the grocery cart that she wants the unicorn pillow pet. She got a couple little candy canes and she was pretty pleased :D. We wandered around the store eating free samples, so THAT was pretty cool too, I've not done that in a while. Then we got on the road, and headed to Aurora.
Aaron and Renee's son Malcolm is 2!!! We went from Kroger to their house in Aurora for his second birthday party. We got there an hour early, but it was ok, we got some good one-on-one Wiseman time :D. It was a great party. I got to see many people I've not seen in a long time; Mary, Dan, Andy, Dave & Joslyn and their kids, Nick & Heather and THEIR gorgeous new daughter, Sven & Jen, Rob & Grace, and both Renee and Aaron's families :D. It was a lot of fun, and always fun to watch Devin interact with the other kids. And the adults too, for that matter. :) Good times, yo.
Yesterday we just relaxed. We needed to recover. I think we all got sick in Washington; my nose is SO stuffed up o_O. But that's ok. We hung out a little with my mom and Moe, had some dinner, and it was very nice :). Dev and I are going to chill now, and since we were up at 6:30 (o_O!!) I need some rest before I start my first day of work, at 2pm. JOY!!! I made us some pancakes (thank the GODS for "How to Boil Water", I make a MEAN pancake now ;)) and scrambled eggs for breakfast, and I think I'm entering a cold induced food coma.
