Good, Bad, and Ugly; a mini-update
The good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm going to go in reverse.
The ulgy:
Do we ever truly understand the lives we've touched? Do we ever really know the impacts we make, the impressions we make on others? The marks we leave on another's soul?
A truly remarkable man passed away Wed. It was shocking and unexpected, he was only 39. Michael Schlachter is beyond words, and now beyond the clouds. He was a renaissance man, talking Food Network with me during football games, baking cookies while we talked about LARP. He will be missed.
The bad:
Sick. SO sick. Last Friday the 15th Devin went in to her ped, diagnosed with a double ear infection and given augmentin. Then this Thurs I stayed home sick, went to the doc. I didn't get a diagnosis, but she said my right ear had liquid in it and my right nostral was completely shut, so she put ME on augmentin ;). Dev's meds are done, but she's still coughing and boogeries, and I'm just not comfortable with it, so I'm going to try to get her back in to the ped tomorrow. *I* am not feeling better yet either, but I'm going to try to give the meds a little more time. Everything from my neck up hurts. Erg.
The good 1.0:
Dev's party was a huge success. GREAT turnout, the kids were all good (cute costumes!!), the food turned out awesome and it was just a great, calm, social time. And I am blessed with some amazing friends! Thank you guys, you were all lifesavers :D. Devin made out like a bandit too. Mission accomplished :D.
The good 2.0:
I. Got. The. JOB!!! *dies* Vet Specialty Center ICU, here I come!! The schedule's something like Sun-Wed 2pm-12:30am, TOTALLY my cup of tea. Dev's sitter does overnights, so that's not a problem. It's a pretty significant pay increase :D. AND it's in Buffalo Grove, only 18 miles away, versus 40 miles to Hyde Park. So I gave my 2 weeks notice today. JOY!!! It's going to take some time, but I'm definitely on the track to pulling my life back together. Whew!
OK, I need to get ready for work tomorrow. I've only got a 9:30pm bedtime for 2 more weeks! YES! ;) Nighty-night all.
