Con Afterglow

Apr 18, 2010 09:19

I'm still on my con-high and TOTALLY enjoying the afterglow :). I wish I were going today; there's a Bill Willingham spotlight, an Avatar the Last Airbender panel and of course the X-Men panel! :P But that's ok, I know better now ;).

I wanted to mention some other things about C2E2 that just made it the best. First of all McCormick Place is gorgeous. I drive by it every day on my way home. It's right there on the Lake and there are all these HUGE windows. It was such an amazingly sunny day that the whole event was bright with natural light, a rarity at a con. The location was also super clean, a bonus when one is running around in socks ;). AND I *loved* the layout of the booths. The space was so big, it just felt like, even as it got more crowded, that there was just scores of room. And it was family friendly. There were lots of children there, and all the people working the con and the booths were so sweet ot Devin, talking to her, playing with her, and giving her cute little toddler-friendly swag ;).

There were some cute rips on the whole sparkling vampire thing. There was a shirt, I don't remember where now, that had Angel scowling on one side and Edward on the other and they that a shared thought bubble that said "Wanker." Heh... AND the Edward pic was sparkly. *laughs* And *I* think all this "team" stuff is kinda dumb, but I can TOTALLY get behind Team Kermit ;). Yes, I was amused.

OK, I'm off to get ready for a playdate with Ellie and her family! Later! :D
