Better...
I don't really have a lot of time right now, but I wanna update a little. Had a hard core Devin weekend, just us, which I think I needed.
Yesterday AM was calm, just chilling. Post nap we went to see The Toy Insider at Woodfield. It was fun! She got to play with a ton of toys and I think she had a blast. I need to look into more Discovery Kids toys! She loved them. We also went to the Lego Store, Disney Store, a new toy and game store right next to it, and Build a Bear. I was THISCLOSE to buying her these light up Minnie Mouse shoes, they were REDICULOUSLY adorable on her. I'm glad I didn't - they're cheaper online by $5! But I was good, and only bought us lunch. After that was Target for groceries and then chilling at home. I even finally cleaned up some after Devin's birthday party (pics to come when I upload them...).
Today we went to the Nature Museum in Lincoln Park. Woah. WOAH. We had a BLAST. I was worried cause it was nap time, but she did great. It's the 10th anni, so it's free, which was a lovely suprise, especially concidering the cost of lunch o_O. We did all kinds of things. There was a bug cooking demo, where we ate ant pupae tacos, mealworm and cricket gumbalaya, chocolate "chirp" cookies and mealworm candies. They were all good! Devin played in the water in the river exhibit. We wandered everything and played in them all. There's an actual play area too, with a slide and a boat and a cave with a periscope that she adored. And the butterfly house - WOAH. That was AWESOME, we loved all the butterflies. It was a wonderful experience and we are going again next Sunday :). I even ran into Roberto there, someone I went to college with. He works there! :)
We came home, she napped a little, then we cuddled and watched more Curious George and ate. She was moody from her lack of sleep and a skinned knee from running and falling, but it was still a lovely evening. Now I need to shower, make lunch, and get some sleep to wash, rinse, repeat at work ;).
Oh, and I parallel parked for the first time. Successfully!! ;) And the weather today? PERFECT. It was a little walk to the car but it was so pleasant we didn't mind. The whole area there is just gorgeous. We petted puppies and she made all kinds of friends while we walked back to the car :).
