Retail Therapy

May 17, 2009 00:58

Started out as a bad day today, pretty much the cap to a bad week. So Albie and I agreed that a little retail therapy was in order.

I know, I know, I don't have a lot of money. But this is an extra paycheck month. Some is going into savings, some is going toward credit cards, and I'd already planned to spend some on myself. There was a list of potential purchases, but today appearently decided what I was buying o_O. Stress does that sometimes, heh.

But, sometimes things happen for a reason, and I did luck out today.

Albie and I started out at Old Navy. I got 4 shirts, a pair of shorts, a dress and a skirt, and a little football for Devin. The shirts were kinda extra, but the rest was needed to help round out my summer wardrobe, so that helps. We were gonna go to Best Buy cause I kinda need an external hard drive for all my Devin pics, heh, but Albie said he needed to stop at DSW cause he needed new shoes, so I was like, Devin's in a good mood, cool with me.

So... I've been on the lookout for a new purse for a little while now. My beloved army green purse was over 10 years old and worn through in some places. I looked all over, when I'd thought about it, but I'm really picky and nothing screamed me. I'd found this cute little $16 patchwork thing at Pennys that I liked but not LOVED, but it was working for now. And maybe a "normal" woman would have put the shoe-purse thing together on their own but I TOTALLY didn't o_O.

So we walk in, and right there by the door is this purse, on the bigger side, covered in bright anime-looking characters. Caught my eye immediately. And I'm like, wait, no WAY!?! I move closer, inspect the purse... WAY!! It's a Tokidoki purse!! I'd never seen one in person before. I picked it up, looked it over, and behold! Many pockets!! It was like purse nirvana. I recalled NOT picking up the purse I fell in love with at the Fossil outlet a couple years ago and how I totally regretted it cause of how picky I am, heh. So... it was originally $184, marked down to $109. And, yes, I got it.

I am now the proud owner of a Carezza style purse in the print Celebrazzione :D. Looks like this. It was to celebrate the new year, 2009, and both the print and the style no longer exist :). Looking online, I got it VERY cheap, and I can't find my price anywhere. Score! It's... perfect *sigh*. I'm thrilled!!

Take note - this is prolly the girliest I've ever been! Still no shoe love, but this is progress ;). AND they actually had a BUNCH of purses I really liked. Damnit.

After all that we went to Toys R Us to poke around. Devin had a blast. I found a couple things I want, like Melissa & Doug Alphabet Puzzle Book and the Encyclopedia of Immaturity ;). We looked at chairs, trikes, rocking horses, legos, dolls, books... Good times! And I even controlled myself, hehe.

*yawn* Should have been alseep ages ago. But it was a good ending and I wanted to note it, so yay. Night all.
