Hmmm... feeling a little hyper and frantic. Trying to do too many things at the same time, thinking a lot and then getting lost and confused. Train: derailed!! I blame Spring, and this glorious sunny day :).
As I said, it's almost 40 degrees here today and I've been all cooped up thanks to the hella snow yesterday, so after nap #1 and meal #2 Devin and I bundled up, strapped on the Baby Bjorn and went for a walk. The new apartment's much closer to the Golf/Roselle intersection, so we went to Michael's. What was an almost 20 minute walk from my old place is like only 5 or so minutes now. Sweet.
It is still a little chilly so we both ended up with pink noses but the sun helped to keep us warm. I went to Michael's to check out
Cotton-Ease. I wanted to see how soft it was and I do love the
Wool-Eases. It was ok, but nothing spectacular I thought. BUT (of course) while there I went a wee bit crazy. I got 2 skeins of
Moda Dea Sassy Stripes in Polo on sale. I dunno what I;m even going to do with it, but I wanted striping yarn and it's so pretty! Also I'd heard in one of my comms how lovely bamboo yarn is, so I poked around some. I found a knit sample of the Bernat Alpaca, Cashmere and Bamboo blends. Holy cow!! The bamboo is CRAZY soft!! So I got 2 skeins of the
Bernat Bamboo Yarn in Wicker to make a doll or something out of. I might get more for a scarf or something - it's so soft!! I also got little folding craft scissors, so I can put the house scissors back ;).
For a different future project I got
Quick to Stitch: 46 Wild Animals, a cross stitch book. I am going to have to get floss and canvas soon...
And lastly, I ran into an awesome beads and charms display. I found a set of 3 heart lockets for $4!! I'm going to try those as scent lockets, though I forgot felt for the pads inside. I found a couple charms that might work as costume pieces for Dave too, so we'll see if he likes them. I got chains for both of us too.
So it was a pricier trip than was intended, causing me to give up on my bubble tea run (Devin was getting tired anyway), but it was worth it. We came home after that. The fresh air must have agreed with Devin. She was sleepy, as we were approaching nap #2, but she was playful when we got home, and did her butt-up inching forward "crawl" for me again, heehee. She went down for her nap at 2:30, sleeping till 5!! I went to check on her and her sleepy little head popped up ;). She's noshing at the milkmaids now. She's such a happy baby today!! I am enjoying her very much.
While she napped I oogled my new yarn, caught up online and had some lovely chai to make up for the loss of bubble tea. I'd gotten
this tea as a gift from work x-mas 2006. I had a cup yesterday, but it's WAY spicy. Today I made it more "traditional" with sugar and milk. WAY better. Will have to make more :). Mmm... chai... Now I gotta pick new projects for my yarn! Eee!!!
SO, yes, that was my afternoon, heh. Guess I'm feeling wordy too ;).
