A Different Kind of Work Experience

Fun things happen when you work in a video game store, I've discovered.  Especially when you work with nothing but guys and most of them are younger than you and the ones that are older are actually even less mature than the kids.  This lead to some fun stuff.

Here's a story of an even that happened the other day:

*To set the scene:  It was an evening and I was working with Coworker P and Idiot Coworker C.  The two of them play D&D and Coworker P actually had his laptop out and was looking up stats on the official site and all this.  The nerd level in the place was already EXCEEDINGLY high*

*Suddenly, a guy walks in wearing a shirt that says "Han Shot First"  The nerd alert starts to beep that geek levels are approaching critical*

Me:  Hey man, I dig the shirt!  *nerd level is now in the red*

Idiot Coworker C:  DUDE FUCK STAR WARS.  STAR WARS DOESN'T EVEN COMPETE WITH STAR TREK.

*The store erupts into a Star Wars vs. Star Trek debate.  The nerd meter is now completely shattered.*

It was a transcendent moment of dork nirvana.  Nerdvana.

Or today, when I spent four hours of work where it was just me and Manager J.  Manager J is amazing and acts more immature than a lot of us younger employees do.  He's really fun to talk to and has a FILTHY sense of humor and we ended up talking for the majority of the time about such subjects as porn (I told him about yaoi and he was intrigued) and giving head.  I tell you what, there's nothing like talking about the finer points of "going downtown on a lady" (as he so put it), pausing to help a lady and her seven year old girl get a Hannah Montana game, and then going right back to it.

Awesome times all around.

wtf, funny, gaming, work
