Definitely not the ending I pictured - you surprised me, which is great!

It also makes me wonder whether dru will stay with him this time or not, and how Buffy will feel about Angel when she remembers.

Thanks! At the time, it was the longest thing I'd ever written, and I think it's just about the only Spike/Buffy ever wrote, even though that was my OMGOTP!!!1! when I first discovered fanfiction. :) I'm kinda proud of it in a 'if I don't reread it I can pretend it isn't derivative bullshit' kind of way. ;)

This is one of the most inventive and unusual Spuffy stories I ever read. It isn't derivative at all - it's fresh and ingenious. The ending is particularly poignant.

wow. you know, i think i've only ever read one amnesia!fic. the idea of it never really appealed to me. this fic, however, has made me change my mind. i loved it. and even though i wouldn't have minded an epilogue, or even an epic (what can i say, i'm a whore for the good fic!), the ending works and the story stands very well on its own. have you got some more amnesia!fic hidden away that i could peruse?

The only other amnesia fic that I've written is an abandoned WIP. (it's Spike/Xander, and if you're terribly interested, it's linked on my main journal page or in my memories under Amnesia!Xander, or A!X)

I could rec you fic, though! Unfortunately, all my recs would be slash, and I don't know if you're into that or not. Also, most of my amnesia recs are for Harry Potter, Stargate: Atlantis, and one due South (although I can think of three BtVS amnesia fics off the top of my head, 2 S/X and one S/B). I would *highly* recommend Chicago's Most Wanted by cesperanza which is due South fic, and the pairing is Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski. If you have even a passing knowledge of the show, you will LOVE this fic. My mom doesn't even like slash and has only seen a few episodes and she LOVED this fic. It's very plotty with v. little smutty bits, so you can even skip that if you don't like slash.

ha! i'm glad i could inspire you to create a rec post. :) you should totally do it, and i will be all over it...i've always got my eye out for new fic.

i love all things spuffy, but i am indeed a fan of the slash, so rec away. any BtVS amnesia fic you know about, i'm interested.

i will def check out 'Chicago's Most Wanted'. i've only got a passing knowledge of the show but i'll read anything well-written and highly recommended.
