Diefenbaker fic! This is adorable. I like Dief's dry, matter-of-fact wolfy voice. Love how he mooches the muffins off Ray's neighbor. It's also cool that he can gauge the level of Ray's irritation from the vibrations--at a distance, even. Smart wolf.

The copy's so clean that I figured you'd want to know there's a word missing in this sentence:

(Cats are almost as fun as rabbits, but there aren’t any rabbits here in this strange place my friend and I now live.)

Should be "...in this strange place where my friend and I now live" ("in which" is OK, too) or "...in this strange place my friend and I now live in."

Also, since Dief's English is so grammatical, maybe he'd want this to be perfect, too: "She does not know whom she is dealing with."

I love how Ray's concerns are just not important when there are muffins or there's a cat. That is so Dief! Here's another great bit:

I put my head on my paws. This is just great. Outsmarted by a cat.
Ray shows up eventually. I give him my most pitiful look and then stare at the cat. Ray is not very sympathetic.

I just love his dry delivery. And this:

-It’s nine o’clock in the morning, Dief, I don’t have time for this. I’ve got a half-naked Mountie in my bed and ....
I turn my head. I do not need to hear about this. Eww.

LOL! The story put a smile on my face. Thanks!
