I'm really excited about Ebi's album! I already preordered both copies of it. ^^ The last time I bought more than one version of an album was with Kisumai's Kis-My-1st (but Kisumai releases 4 versions of each of their albums, so.... AVEX!!). I'm kind of glad they're including clearfiles as the bonus instead of posters this time because I'm running low on wallspace. ^^; I do kind of wonder about them apparently including every song that was released on the bonus CDs that came with certain editions of certain DVD single releases. On one hand, that means that no fan will have to "miss" these songs, while on the other, fans who bought all the versions with all the CDs might wonder: but what did I buy these for? Well, there was other content exclusive to each of those versions, so I wouldn't call it a waste. The 5stars version that'll only have 55,555 copies is pretty cute too.
It seems like Johnny's WEST already kind of strange debut might be about to get even stranger?
So it was kind of weird that they decided to debut a 4-member unit since Johnny's seems big on the middle-large size groups right now (but I wondered if this wasn't part of some early-Johnny's nostalgia phase), and it was a little weird that they broke up 7 WEST to do it. Not that it's weird for Johnny's to break up junior units for a debut, but they usually do it for volleyball debuts. And the choosing their debut song by fan vote thing is unusual for Johnny's, but okay, they're trying something new and trying to hype up the debut to get more media attention and more sales.
Then, on Sunday, on the radio show Mogitate Kanjuus, Akito says: "4月までにメンバーも変えれる (up until April [they] can change the members)" You can listen to the show
here and read the relevant part transcribed
here. (BAD talks a lot about the debut decisions and the announcement itself, so if you find debut stories interesting I really recommend listening to it. I may summarize more of it later for people who don't understand Japanese.)
What? They can change the members? I listened up to the relevant parts in the show and came up with a possible explanation. In this part (this is a rough summary since I don't have time to listen again right now), they're talking about how they were going to make the announcement at Countdown, but details hadn't been decided yet and Johnny was going to delay the announcement. So I came up with the explanation that he was just talking about his thoughts and feelings around the time of the announcement. They pretty much say that they were worried nothing would go forward if they didn't make the announcement even though they had picked April for a debut date, so maybe were worried that the members could get changed up until then?
After all, it seems like too much to hope that they would change the members and maybe add other Kansai Jrs. that fans were hoping could debut, and they had said in the news about the debut that they had already recorded 10+ songs. They can't really change the members if they've already done recording, can they?
Well... (Reportedly from Duet 3/2014, a picture of Nakama, Shigeoka, Kotaki, Kiriyama, Kamiyama, Fujii, and Hamada with "Johnny's WEST" over the top)
...
...I give up. Naniwa Samurai Hello Tokyo!! starts tomorrow, so hopefully this can get cleared up with that and we'll have stage reports and fans can be excited over the songs they'll apparently be picking the debut song from.
