Time for the promised long rambling post in which I talk about my thoughts and feelings in relation to Good Iku ze!
I love having the kind of intro/opening tracks on albums. There are times when they just seem like filler added to have the appropriate number of tracks, but it doesn't seem like that in Kisumai's albums. ^^
I can't quite get used to "Black & White". It sounds like there's too much going on in the song sometimes and I don't know what to listen to. >_<
When I'm listening to "Strawberry Dance", especially during the opening of the song I feel like I should be dancing disco and I like it. ^^
About "xLunaSx" ...It's pretty and Gaya's voice is nice and all, but someone needs to tell Gaya that using "U" instead of "you" isn't actually that cool, lol. I think in general I like the Japanese parts of his lyrics more than the English parts. All of Gaya's solos that I've heard have still all been cool, though.
"Forza!" is beautiful! I think it's my favorite of the original songs on this album. ^_^ I especially love the part in the middle with all the solo lines. Please make an entire song like that section. I want it. I also want to sing along every time they say "forza" or "evviva". I just looked up what they mean, and it makes sense with the crowd cheering sounds in the song. Although Jpop songs tend to use English pretty often, I find it interesting when they use words from other languages. ^_^
It's so silly that the song is "Chance Chance Baybee", but in the lyrics it's written "Chance Chance Baby". ^^; Are there bees in a bay somewhere? It's a nice, kinda cutesy and silly song anyway. ^_^
"Give me..." wasn't the type of solo I was expecting from Mitsu, but I really like the piano in it. I can jam to the piano solo.
I was surprised in a good way by the album mix for "Ai no Beat". I had heard that it was a sort of mix of the dance version and the rock version, but I hadn't expected it to be as exciting as it is.
There are parts of "Mother Moon" that are pretty, but it's another title whose meaning I don't understand. From the lyrics it seems like a love ballad, but I don't know how a Mother Moon is supposed to fit in. >_<
Onto Kis-My-Zero 3. I'm so happy there's a 3. T_T I probably won't talk about every song on it, but I'm happy "SHOOTING STARS" is there. When my friend I met while studying abroad was telling me about Kisumai, a performance of "SHOOTING STARS" was one of the first videos I saw, picked to show off their roller skating skills. Lyrics like "SHU-WA SHU-WI SHU-WA SHOOTING STARS" sound so silly, but it's precisely because of that that the song sticks with me.
Kaizoku is a fun song, and I especially like the rap solos and the chorus... Except, between the two, that's pretty much the whole song, isn't it? xD I'm also grateful to it for teaching me the word for pirate.
Again, with "Think u x." this time, writing "u" instead of "you" and purposely misspelling words is not that hip, lol, Gaya. I also think we should start an investigation into Gaya's obvious love of the letter x. And then lyrics like "No one can stop me now/ Going inside of you" Oh Gaya, what won't you say? Although the English parts of the lyrics in this solo are less grammatically coherent than in "xLunaSx" I think I find them more interesting, maybe because there's more variety.
I think "ROCK U" is more of what I was expecting from Mitsu's solos, but we'll see what kind of solos he sings in the future. I'm impressed with how it's written in the lyric sheet when the initial sound of a word is repeated, lol.
When I see the lyrics for "Rocking Party" I feel like I'm reading the lyrics from the capsule song "FRUITS CLiPPER"
"Rocking Party" lyrics: One night party I,don't feeling? [It's actually written with a comma there]
"FRUITS CLiPPER" lyrics: earl-gray drinking harmony croquis crisis
Just the way they both seem like a meaningless string of words.
"Kis-My-LAND" is another really fun song. ♥ I also love how they do a bunch of solo lines in a row to introduce the attractions, lol. ^^_
Other Kisumai fans, please let me know what you thought too! ...I still don't know what the horse is about, lol.
