This weekend, my brother and his girlfriend came to visit us, and on Saturday, we hung around in Chicago. And, since near Chicago, there is a
Mitsuwa Marketplace we went there too. They have a bookstore there, and although I was sad at first to realize that all the magazines they had were ones that had already been out before I left Japan, they happened to be having a magazine sale, so I went crazy and bought like 17 magazines all for $1 each. It was so good. They were selling old magazines, mostly old issues from last year.
And then when I go to the register to buy my stacks of magazines, I noticed behind the counter that they had Kisumai's calendar on display, and were selling it for half of what they normally would have. I asked the person at the register about it, and the one on display was the only one left, so he actually gave me an even further discount for it. ^_^
So happy. There are few occasions when it is that much fun to shop for me. And when I think that a shopping experience as fun for me is going to a Johnny's shop... I just realize how much of an otaku I am.
There was one time late in my stay in Japan when a friend asked me about anything I had been into recently, and when I replied, "Kisumai," she asked "Besides that." My answer was Natsume Yuujinchou, by the way.
