Yesterday my copy of Arashi's Beautiful World album came in the mail. <3 I was gonna post about it yesterday, but then I was tired due to a long story involving a failed attempt at getting a hot-air balloon ride.
Aside from the single songs and "Mada Minu Sekai e", I hadn't listened to any of the other songs from this album in full, so the first listen was really special. They did not disappoint. It's an album full of amazing intros. The other parts of the songs are good, too, of course, but so many of them had great intros which really stood out to me, especially "Rock this" whose intro was really unexpected, at the very start of the album. Speaking of which, "Rock this" works really well as the first song, it works well as a kind of start. I also love how all of the members have a part in the rap; I love songs in which they do that! I almost want an instrumental version of "Niji no Kakera ~no rain, no rainbow~" the instrumentation makes it so pretty.
The solos are all fantastic. "Shake it!" sounds so perfect for Jun. "Hung up on" may be my favorite solo on the album (Ohno always seems to get awesome solos), but "Janakute" is also a contender with its maybe jazzy (? Never ask me to identify music genres. I will fail.) sound. "Doko ni demo aru uta" is very pretty with its slow build-up, but it's not the kind of song I can get into right away. It's probably more of the type to grow on me, though. And of course, it's playing right now, and I'm appreciating it more and all. "Kono Mama Motto" is so different from other Sho solos I've heard that I wanted to laugh while listening to it. It's not bad, but it's just funny to hear him sing a solo like that.
"morning light" I love this song. I could party to it all night long. Let me put this on a dance party set list. "Tooku Made" is so full of energy, and it ends the album off right with its own ending. Additionally, all of the songs I didn't mention in this post were also lovely, but I have rambled enough. <3
Arashi does things, beautiful things, in albums which it almost seems like they can't, maybe aren't allowed to do in singles lately, and it's both wonderful and a little sad.
