Backward, rain-drenched den of politeness

^I've been wanting to be able to use that as a title since I watched the new Psych episode on Thursday. ^_^ I also watched the new Misfits episode on Saturday. I also watched some more Arthur over the weekend. ^_^ slowly going through that series, teehee. (teehee because of the content of series and with whom I've been watching most of it and the things we say) I've gotten behind on Freetaa, Ie wo Kau, but I should really cut down a little on tv watching until Friday since I have a paper draft due Thursday.

I'm kinda getting worried and stressed out about that paper, but I need to keep telling myself to relax and just do it because I've always been able to pull something more than passable together for all my papers since entering college. Besides, it's just a draft, so it's okay if it's a little flawed and not quite up to the appropriate page count. Which is 10 pages, btw, another reason I'm kinda nervous, since I've never written something that long before, which may sound kinda wimpy, but it's true. But I need to remind myself that it's just a draft and not quite getting there is okay.

I've also been feeling lonely lately, which is really more than just lately, but I'm gonna pin as much of that on the stress of omfg, college as I can. Besides, I will always have this to keep me company. Hurray for an excuse to post that! \(^_^)/

So in my Latin class, we all have the assignment to pick one of the Horace poems we're reading, scan it, and give a poetic (not metrical, but with poetic aspects) translation of it. Mine happened to be today, and I was surprised that even though I messed up on some of the technical aspects of the literal meaning, my classmates and the professor praised me on my translation. It's kinda making me feel a little bit more confident in my desired career (even if the issue of money is still a little problematic).

I decided this a while ago, but since I've been getting some of my family members a little into Arashi and since they keep asking me what the songs mean, I want to translate song lyrics from Boku no Miteiru Fuukei for them as a Christmas present. At least as much as I could get through from the beginning of break until Christmas. I know I could easily find translations online, but this will be more personal and it will be a way for me to try out what I can do now, with what I've learned so far.
