Have you ever been alone in a crowded room?
So, uh, oops. Half a week later and I finally get to posting, sorry about that.
A great number of exciting things happened last week. On Monday, I learned that I'll be receiving an award for being a good Latin student. I did not even know that such an award existed at our college before than, so that was a pleasant surprise. Then, on Tuesday, a panel holding a light in the ceiling of my room fell down while I was in class. My roommate was in the room, but luckily, she was pretty far away from it and wasn't hurt. Nothing else broke, except for my ceiling. It wasn't too big of a deal really, and phys plant fixed it the next day.
As the people from phys plant were fixing it, I finally finished my application to a summer language program they have here, and they notified me of my acceptance the same day. At the same time, they let me know that I also received a small but still decently sized scholarship for it for which I applied. I also applied for a full tuition scholarship for the program, and although they had originally said that they would make a decision and notify the applicants by April 2, today I received an email saying that they wouldn't be deciding until next Tuesday and would notify us by the end of next week instead. I'll be both really happy and fairly surprised if I do get the scholarship, since they only give ten per year.
Also on Wednesday, I braved our colleges weekly shuttles with just_bolognese to buy VIDEO GAMES. We were mainly going for SMT: Strange Journey, but I was also interested in buying Soul Silver. Unfortunately, Game Stop only had one copy of Strange Journey, so I let just_bolognese buy it since I wanted to buy another game and she was mostly interested in Strange Journey and since I figured it might be some time before I felt I had time to play it, since I still have several other rpgs to finish. ^^; But I did get Soul Silver!
I picked a cyndaquil for my starter and named it Ninomiya! <3 I'm naming all my other pokemon, too, of course. I've just gotten to Ecruteak City, but I haven't beaten the gym leader yet. I also finally got my evee! I really love evee and its evolutions. <3 I've also used the pokewalker quite a bit. It's pretty convenient for me to use it since I have to walk to class all the time anyway. I recently opened up blue lake.
Nothing much else exciting happened 'till the weekend, except for both of my classes on Friday being canceled since the professors were both at conferences. That night, I felt like hanging out, so I went to my sorority and ended up tagging along with a few of my sisters (it still feels so weird to say that ><) to hang out at one of the fraternities on campus. They were making long island iced tea, but I didn't drink anything, although I was in that weird tired state where you feel really silly since I stayed there until about 2:15 am. I did sorta meet a cute guy there (although I didn't say much to him, and I'm not sure he knows my name ^^;) and got to feel like a creeper the next day and looked him up on our college's online directory. I ended up hanging out with my sorority quite a bit the rest of the weekend too. We had a big sister reveal on Sunday, and I'm pretty happy about who mine is. ^_^
Bleh, that was a lot. I should not wait so long before updating again. T_T Especially when a bunch of cool stuff happens. So far this week, I've registered for classes next semester, although I'll probably change one or two of them before classes start, and have been filling out forms for housing stuff for next year. I'm pretty happy to be living in a single, and really happy that Japan Club got its own floor. Now it's time to aggressively recruit members so we can expand. Mwahahaha.
