Gay rights.

Hey, don't get me wrong, gays are swell and all, but all these little gay rights things are starting to get just a wee bit annoying. And the biggest problem I see is that the people you're trying to target to change, are not on the internet reading LJ or much else for that matter, and even if they did nothing would change. "Corin, how you say that gays have it easy just because they can hide it, differ from blacks who obviously can’t, is just wrong. Don’t compare two different problems, people, to each other because one’s a little worse then that other. Don’t try to force them to take a step back and say “yeah, that’s right, I have it easier. Whee! Let me just hide forever!” No, it’s not right to hide it. We can’t hide it anymore. Do you have any clue how hard it is, how much it hurts, not to be yourself! Your hiding yourself. If you are gay, then you are gay, that’s it. Nothing you can do, that’s just apart of you. So if you hide it, then your gonna hide yourself forever. And come on Corin, that’s like asking you to hide away from girls because you like them. I don’t think you’d do that, so don’t think gays can as well."

In case you didn't know, I wasn't ever really the person I wanted to be, and I never can be, just because who I want to be is just too nice, and it'd be seen as me hitting on everyone (guys and gals alike). Now I don't wish for any of this to be thought, so I change who I am to fit the world. It's not too hard, and yes it'd be nice to be myself but really self is only what you think you should be or are.

On another note, Yeah it's safer to do this on the internet, but there will be no change in the world as a whole because of it. And if people like me who DO support gay rights is getting annoyed with all the random crap about "put this long sentence/paragraph/story in your blank blank and help the gay rights cause" type stuff what do you think it's doing to the people who are already against gay rights?

And I'm STILL waiting for a friend to come out and say they are gay, and get anything but "Oh okay" Because so far as I can tell, at least where I live and who I know, it may make them a bit weirded out, but nothing long lasting.

/end rant
