Part one:
Commitment, an idea, a noun.
To pledge to something or someone.
What has this idea become?
Those days of selflessness
Souls being repaired
Hearts being mended?
The times of wholeheartedness
Truth passing through ev'ry pair of lips
Praising rather than critiquing?
Could the ages have really taken
All the conviction from our voices
The certainty off our minds?
Have the eternities of protest
Engaged us in a full on War of wit
Battling against kindred?
How do we fight against a force
Essentially brutal in its bluntness
Whilst constant feud reigns?
Will the trustworthy, the courageous
Stay upon one common goal
What is it worth?
Shall all who have been committed
Fall into despair as if weak;
Weak from fighting a pointless battle?
Band together, I say, not necessarily
With those of your kin, but with your thoughts
The morals residing deep within.
Fight against the noncommittal
Challenge the path youth are taking
Bring back the glory years.
Part Two:
Friday started a turning point.
A great debate.
A new era, dominion.
As we marched the class of two thousand and eight out of the high school at two in the afternoon, each and every one of us standing in that band who graduate in two thousand and nine knew what it signified.
The year of lasts has come at long last, after three grueling years of being inferior.
Now, we are the force.
We hopped into the drivers seat to the tune of the fight song.
Will we crash and burn? Or rise up to the challenge and create a new empire?
Only time will tell.
I tried out for President. The awards banquet is taking too long to get here.
My section leader application is filled out. Mine will be the first one in. Hopefully, that stands for something in the eyes of Griffith.
I don't know friends, life has gotten more hectic, and the level of busy is as high as Mt. Everest. I don't know if I can take it.
My scalp burns. UV rays suck.
Thats all for now. I expect I'll be writing another one of these soon, as soon as all of the results are in.
