The last two days have been awesome! First Tim, Matt and me went to the Pens/Habs game yesterday which was a really good game. We got seats in the South end again, which means the Habs warmed up in front of us. I ran down to the glass with my 'Saku Koivu, You're My Hero!' sign and ended up making friends with the camera-man. He said he really liked my sign and that if Saku scored or assisted he would put me on TV. So I showed him where we were sitting and I ended up on TV after the Habs first goal, which Saku assisted. Anyway the Habs came out for warm-ups and Saku saw my sign right away. The first time he just read it real quick, and then when he skated back he stopped and smiled. Then every time he would skate by he would wave and smile. He stopped beside me so I got some pretty nice close ups of him which was awesome. I also took close-ups of Souray, Kovy, Higgins, and Begin. I also had a sign for Bogey and when he went to go into the locker room he saw it and smiled.
The game was really interesting. Malone and Souray fought, Noah Welch put the puck into our own net, scoring for the Habs, (which I was pretty pissed about), Colby almost had a HT, but it didn't count because he directed it in with his arm, Kovy scored twice, Sid was getting fiesty in the corners, and Saku Koivu was named the third star of the game! So of course I waved my sign around, which really got the Habs fans going haha. Gotta love it.
Today was the player signing up at Dick's in Robinson. Miranda wasn't able to go, so it was just me and Kim. We didn't get there until around 5:45 and the line was enormous! It snaked all the way through Dicks, out into the mall, down around the end of the mall and into the food court. The Dick's workers said there were more people there tonight then there were for Hines Ward. No lie. That's insane and I wish Rendell could have saw it. After waiting for 2 hours we finally made it into the store, where they declared that they were closing the line off after the guy right in front of us. Luckily he was a really nice guy and he let us act like we were with him so we could get in. I love him for that. So we were the absolute last people in line. There were some real jerks trying to join in with us, but they eventually sent a worker to stand behind us. So we get up there and it felt so good to be the last ones, like everyone was standing around the barricades just watching us talk with the players and stuff. Plus the players were supposed to leave at 8, but they stayed 45 minutes longer which was really awesome of them. I talked with Malone first, and aww his poor nose! We talked a bit about his awesome goal on Friday and how they had the day off today. I snapped a picture real quick and had him sign my puck. Then I went to Fleury, who had the cutest sign a little girl had given him, it was adorable. MAF was really sweet as always and I got my puck signed, but completely forgot to get a picture...ahh oh well Kim has one. Next was Colby, the one I had went to see. The crowd was chanting 'Hat-trick Hat-trick!' and Colby was blushing like mad, too cute. He signed my puck and I asked for a picture with him, which wasn't really allowed. But I ran around the table and was like 'Shh don't tell them I'm doing this Colby!' He laughed and we got the picture. Too bad the whole time the people outside the barricades were like 'Get together for another picture! Awwwww!' and they were snapping pictures of us. I swear if I see me and Colby on some website I'll be pissed. I told he had a really good game on Sunday and congratulated him on being named the Second Star of the game. After we finished talking and stuff they got up to leave, which was pretty funny because we were still inside with them. Colby came right over beside me and started signing stuff for the people outside, such a sweetheart. Plus he is really tall, which I never knew! I felt like a midget standing beside him haha. But yeah me and Kim felt pretty important standing around with MAF, Malone and Colby, yeah we're tight. Outside in the parking lot Malone was in front of us in his Hummer, so for the second time I ended up following him out of someplace.
The only bad thing tonight was that my truck like short-circuited or something. Kim and I stopped at Starbucks and when we went back out my dashboard gages weren't working. I couldn't see my Speedometer or any of that stuff, and my turn signals were stuck on. I have no clue why that happened, so my mom ended up coming to get us. I took Kim home in the Pilot and my mom followed me in the truck. I guess after she smacked the dashboard it started working. My poor truck.
I'm so happy I finally got to meet Colby he was the only one left I hadn't met so yeah. Too bad I forgot my shirt, but at least I got my game-puck signed by all three of them. Yay.
