well christine,
it just so happens that i'm in the exact same place as i was when i wrote about 5 months ago..the library computer lab. that's right, my hard drive failed on my new (!) computer.
but this is okay for a few reasons:
1) it's a new computer so not a whole lot is on my hard drive
2) it happened before reading and finals week and before i'm oh..3/4 done with my thesis. and considering i read about 800 pages a week for my classes, haven't had a lot of time to type up those research notes.
3) i made a karmic bond with my tech support guy, aeryn, who is from south africa but moved to london and became a british rock star who played to hundreds of people at clubs but started getting too drunk and falling off stage and passing out in performances and began to work for ibm after such a wild lifestyle. he was so smart! i learned a lot about him after our 2 hours on the phone together. he was my computer therapist, making jokes as i freaked out and cursed technology. and he is going to call me at home to help me out more. so hopefully aeryn will make it all okay. go ibm!
and go hot drinks! nothing beats borders holiday blend.
