oh lauren. such a wonderful detailed entry. and quite helpful.
i am inspired by your detail so i feel like i should expound a bit on the whole hot yuppie beverage discussion.
as a hot yuppie, i feel like my life has changed since i've discovered borders. it really has become my secret passion ever since early jan. when lauren told me of the holiday blend. i decided to check it out, i had a few hours to kill right? so whats the harm?
i pulled a few photography books off the shelves, set them on my table, and proceeded to order the holiday traditions.
as i sat down and took the first sip while cracking a photo book, my life changed. my new, "holiday tradition" if you will, would be drinking this fine beverage and looking at photography books.
the other night as i sat there reading and sipping away, i had a scary thought; in australia, where i'm allegedly going next week, its summer. this means... no holiday blends. at least not the spicey wintery holiday blends i've grown to depend on. i mean, this coffee has become the highlight of my existence.
hannah suggested that maybe in australia they have a summery blend. but how could they have a summery version of a warm drink???
and to make matters worse, i finally tried the borders chai after lauren pestered me for a week. oh was she right. this takes the delicious holiday blend and turns it into cold krystals instant coffee. it, in a word is "fabulous".
but they wont have the hot chai in australia. this may sound like a petty concern. especially to all of you reading this in the wilds of ohio and chicago, deep in 2 feet of snow. but i'll put it toyou this way, have you tried the chai? i didnt think so.
love,
christine
