I haven't seen the ep yet so I'll be back later in the week.

Need an icon.

For some reason I figured you hadn't seen it yet, lol. I would have asked you to beta it.

Arg, I need new icons too. I get so attached to the olds I can never change.

I've only just finished watching the ep so I've finally got around to watching your vid. I know Gwen's kind of unpopular but I do have a soft spot for her and I think your vid really captures that tender side of her relationship with Jack. Gotta feel a bit sorry for Rhys though.

my feelings on Gwen vary from episode to episode, actually i like her better now that she's finally married to Rhys, but I never liked her and Jack as the dare i say "Buffy/Angel" Couple (meant for each other couple) of the series. It just felt to forced.

((Doctor Who rambles warning, sorry))
Like i felt Rose/Ten were kinda forced, when she couldnt quite grasp the "he's gonna outlive you a move on" idea, like every other episode she acted like all of a sudden they were going to have a house and kids. And i liked Rose/Nine, i have a soft spot for her daddy issues.
((end Rambles))

Anyway... i just felt that i could use this song to hopefully make it the Gwen/Jack farewell song... which i know you probably haven't seen it yet but the "longing" stares seemed to have gone away for now.

But now i'm off to attempt to find a good Ianto song to vid to, damn it!

Totally with you on Gwen/Jack they just never seemed anything more than friends to me and it always throws me when it suddenly plays like a big doomed love affair because they both seem smarter than that.

I loved Rose to bits but when she was being exceptionally naive about her role in the Doctor's life I wanted to slap her, likewise Martha's moping after the Doctor moments. Unlike most of fandom I'm quite looking forward to having Donna back so that doomed aspect won't be there and the dynamic will be different.

Oh Ianto vid, can't wait, I absolutely love him this season, he's so gloriously sarcastic.

Me neither, know of any good music? With him i don't know if i should go happyish or very dark. And yes now i'm totally obsessed with him and its a new one for me: Age appropriate. Now only thing left to do is to commit to a Ianto icon. I need to be more decisive with my LJ.

With Rose, i wanted to slap her when she would get kidnapped or meet the bad guy and do nothing to help herself and tell them "The Doctor will save me." And with Martha... everytime i thought she was "over" the doctor (AKA: 42) all of a sudden she was back in and it was made the pivotal piece of her story arc damn it!

I just think that they were focusing on her and Jack to much in most of the season that she lost her "moral compass" status, and passed it onto Ianto who did it with a lot more witt and sarcasim.

Ianto vid could definitely go both ways, he can be a bit emo so dark would work but then he also has that dry wit and he does look spiffy in a suit so general the awesomeness of Ianto vid would also work. He always strikes me as a Morrissey kind of guy but I've got no real idea for songs.

Rose's absence was made more of than Martha's presence and that got a bit annoying and made it still all about Rose and the Doctor's big doomed love which really made it hard for Martha to shine in her own right.

TW characters are all much more likable and complex this time around. Owen and Ianto are way more interesting this season, Jack is more like DW Jack and Gwen seems a bit more focused and professional. Tosh is criminally underdeveloped though, shy Asian science geek is such a lazy sterotype.

Damn you Ianto my love!

Yeah, i kept hoping that they would just shut up about Rose and have the doctor move on as he does so well... I mean Jack was able to get over Saint Rose and embraced Martha a person and not a replacement.

i personally like budding "I hate you" friendship between Ianto and Owen. And yeah, Tosh needs it too. I think they have problems balancing character relationships too. Because in season one I kept feeling that Tosh and Ianto would bond greatly over their misery. They needed a 6th in the office. Even numbers so they can all pair up (non-romantically) in different ways episode to episode without anyone being the odd ball out.
