Want to know what I did yesterday flist?
I worked out. Yeah, I finally did it. I have lived in this apartment complex for a year and yesterday was the first time I used the free fitness room. Sad, I know. I have officially decided to get back in shape. I don't have a bad body or anything, but I want to improve. Plus, making my body more fit will help me with my confidence. I hope. Lately, I've been feeling a little helpless, like I'm just going through the motions or whatever. I figure taking control of this one part of my life will help me master the other parts.
About my work out, all I did was jog for 40 minutes, but that's better than what I've been doing. Which is nothing. Frankly, I'm shocked I'm not twice my size. I haven't done anything athletic since high school and considering the way I eat, I should be huge. In the genes, I guess.
I have made a long term plan for my work out. Since its mostly for my own planning, I'll put it under a cut.
I was thinking about what I want to do with my body. What kind of body do I want? I thought about this for a while and asked, Who has a great body?
Jeffery Donovan on Burn Notice
That's the body I 'll shoot for.
Here are some pics for, um, reference.
It's crazy how hard it was to find shirtless pictures of him, especially since he's shirtless so often on the show.
I know he isn't shirtless in this picture. I just think he looks really cute in this one.
I read about the workout Jeffery Donovan's work in a fitness magazine. (I only bought it, because he was on the cover.) Here it is:
- 20 Push-ups
- 5 Inside grip pull-ups
- 20 Diamond push-ups
- 20 Resistance-band curls
- 20 Reverse lunges
- 5 Inside grip pull-ups
- 3 Minutes of shadow-boxing
- 30 Abdominal scissor kicks
- 30 Abdominal flutter kicks
- 15 Abdominal V-ups
I think he said he does this 3 or 4 times a week. Obviously, that's not what I'm doing. At least not at first. This semester My Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesday afternoons are completely free, so those will be good times to exercise. I might be able to fit a work out into Friday mornings too. For now, I'll just try to work out twice a week. I'm just going to jog and maybe do sit-ups and push-ups for the first wek our two, just to warm my body up. Then I'll start his work out, but I'll probably cut it in half. (Ex. 10 push-ups instead of 20 pushups. I don't know if I can even do 20, but I know I can do 10 in a row.) No need to over load myself. I'll see how I feel in a month, then I'll consider doing the full work out.
Another thing is I have been really missing soccer. I use to play on a rec (just for fun) team but stopped during high school. In the spring, hopefully I'll be in better shape and I'm going to join a rec team. Since those teams are just for fun they only practice once a week and have a game once a week. I should be able to handle that, but it depends on my schedule for next semester.
I don't really have a set date for when I want to have "the look." I just want to be healthier, but I am going to set myself a goal. For next year's Otakon, my friends and i have already talked about some possible cosplays. They suggested I do The Man Your Man Could Smell Like from the Old Spice commercials.(He's shirtless, in case you didn't know.) Also, my friend Loren, and I are considering doing Jasmine and Aladdin together. (Aladdin doesn't wear a shirt, just s vest.) I don't know if I'll actually do either of these costumes, but as far as my work out is concerned, I want to be prepared to show my bare chest in case I end up doing them. In other words, I want to look pretty good by the end of July, which shouldn't be too hard since most of these work out things online say they can make people completely ripped in 3 months.
Well, that's all for now. Talk to y'all later.
