Lies, Friends, and Moving

Jul 28, 2008 20:57

It has been quite a while since I posted on here last, and though I am doing this for myself, to get my writing out, I had found myself this year without anything to write... until recently. Some backstory on this particular poem that I wrote AT the computer as I am writing this introduction: For the past year now, Rain and I have been living with one of her friends as a room mate. This woman, who will remain nameless, has not been the best room mate or the best friend, but none of us are perfect now are we? Recently, she has begun accusing myself and Rain of theft, amongst other allegations, and has since ruined any chance of friendship after this lease is over. She did this to herself..and I have no pity for her. Rain and I are leaving the apartment next week and will no longer be shackled with such a burden.

So now it comes to this
The year of friendship and trust
All gone away now, all blown to nothing
leaving us bleeding.

So now it comes to this
You spit this hateful word at us
It slithers and crawls and hisses at me
Driving me mad with anger and grief

So now it comes to this
Your childish rage blinding you
To the truth that we have always been there for you
And would have stuck by you if not for this

So now it comes to this
Instead of speaking like adults
We speak through letters and lawyers
So impersonal and cold
Even the Arctic would seem like Hell

So now it comes to this
You did this to yourself
You believed the lies of others
You turned on those who tried to help and uplift you

So now it comes to this
This harsh bitter ending
This nightmare of your own making
Goodbye.
