Our guide mentioned that as a kid, he and his father would be questioned by the police if they ever came near the lake, for fear that they intended to swim across to Montenegro.

Apparently, when the first batch of Czechoslovakian spitfires were transported to Israel, they had to make a pitstop in a small Montenegro town, and one of the pilots crashed and died.

4 hours drive there, 4 hours back, all for a 45 run around the lake.
