My life has done a 180 in 4 days.
Charles, my phonological analysis prof, has basically ...well, ushered me into doing SIP/MSc or MA in Cognitive Science at Concordia (which is really going to be linguistics and philosophy) instead of taking that previously mentioned year off.
It's weird being ...pushed into a program?
Anyway, it solves my fears about being in school by preventing that from happening.
Now I'm just stressed out as I don't know anything about calculus but I'm reading about it theoretically, I know enough about philosophy of science--but not about those who have been mentioned, and I have to come up with some type of obtainable research topic. I think it's going to be some kind of weird historiography of the history of modern linguistics through a lens of philosophical rationalism/deconstruction thereof.
O__o
My prof BASICALLY told me that the topic I choose can be veered away from entirely, but that I should bullshit this process by using the classes that are offered by Concordia to prop up my proposal.
Yep.
This is weird. Really really cool, but really really weird.
