Ranting time.
Today I went back to the dental surgeon. His office ia in a small plaza with a bunch of other medical offices. As I pulled in, I saw several people standing at the entrance. Around them were signs saying things like "Pro-Life is Pro-Women" and "Abortion is Murder." I have a few things to say about this. Those people were all fairly elderly, and most likely Christian. Yeah I know that's an assumtion, but it's very likely. Pro-life is not prp-women. It inhibits their ability to choose what they want, so it actually hurts equality more than helps. Yeah, you can consider abortion murder, but did you know that the brain of a fetus doesn't start working until the end of it's development? Guess not. If a creature's brain doesn't function, it is considered legally and clinically dead. Abortions aren't even performed at the point that the brain starts anyway. The only way you could consider abortion murder is if you consider carving a Thanksgiving turkey murder. You didn't kill the turkey yourself, so are you a murderer? No, you just cut something up that was already dead. Anyway, how can anyone who follows the Christian doctrine say anything about murder? You find murder to be horrible, but what do you call the Crusades? The Inquisition? Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people were killed just because they thought differently. If you were a true Christian, woudln't you be trying to kill the doctors and people who agree with abortion? That would just be following the example of history.
