Vegan food

I went to the Rainbow for lunch with Fi today, to take advantage of a special offer meaning we got 3 courses for a tenner. Fi actually managed to eat EVERYTHING as well, which was quite remarkably impressive & I am in awe. I left some of my main course so as to have pudding... Anyway, yes, because I am all excited about the bit where I had an exciting choice of foods I am going to tell you EXACTLY what I ate - to wit: lentil & brocolli soup; a feulletine-thingy with rice and salad and vegetably goodness all over the place (and indeed strawberries, for some reason); and pear & blackberry crumble with raspberry icecream. I am not planning to eat again for the next couple of days... What gets me though, is that it is very easy to make yummy vegan foods. So why do "normal" restaurants not catch themselves on. Strangely enough, omnivores can eat vegetarian dishes too, so a better range of them, encompassing veganny goodness would be a GOOD thing. *lesigh* (Also, what is wrong with people in the catering industry that they cannot understand that a fruit salad is really not a "pudding"... I mean, don't get me wrong - I LIKE fruit & fruit salad can be vair scrummy. But given the choice, I would opt for vegan chocolate fudge cake...)

Today was not all about food, either. No. There was work involved as well. Just for a change - a politics of gender lecture plus much reading. I did, however, also do some shopping - books for Politics of Gender; folders; a birthday card & present for Phil; some food things (for later in the week...); and I went and ordered a hoody. Mwahaha. Today also saw posty-fineness from rosie_rah and chaletian and I will try to reply sometime before I graduate... I also managed to put in my book grant application WITH my new books on it. I combined the trip to put it in Gill's box in the Pightle with a trip to the Old Coach House to put my recycling in the paper bin. I am proud to inform you all there was no confusion of the two activities *looks proud*

I would like to go to Prayer & Praise this evening, but the slight matter of the work-mountain-that-threatens-to-crush-me-to-death means I don't think I can, especially as I AM going to Rangers on Thursday, come hell, high water, or indeed more work!
