HONORED BY MY COMMUNITY

Once again the City and County of San Francisco have selected me from among my fellow citizens to be honored. I am a bit embarrassed to tell you this because I am a humble man who prefers to remain in the background, quietly being the magnanimous, incredibly wonderful person I am ( Read more... )

*throws confetti for you*

I'm jealous, actually--I've never been called to jury duty and - with the exception of four summers in the Santa Cruz area, I've lived here all my life!

(by the way I saw your comment to MT above, and golly, am so sorry you went through such a thing.)

Are you registered to vote? because that's usually what they draw from.

Yep, and I have a driver's license. Either gets you on the register. It's fine, though. I only grouse because of the parking.

Mentally ill, eh? :-)

Say, whatever happened to posting those close-ups of your books on their shelves?

That's far more important than jury duty.......

LOL Okay, okay, okay. I'll get some photos up. Actually, I have been thinking that it's my camera that is the problem. I'm thinking of getting a DSLR so I can have a wider angle lens. Would that help?

I've been called as regularly as clockwork the past several years. And, that means as often as they are allowed by law to call me. I don't mind the jury duty, actually, it's more the hassle. In SF, there's NO good way to get there without driving and parking is OUTRAGEOUS. They give you $10.00 per day for serving and parking costs $25. 00. So, unless you decide to eat lunch, it only costs you about $15.00 per day plus gas money for the honor and privilege. :-)

As to the other thing, it was my wife who suffered the most. She is a wonderful woman and it horribly changed her life forever. I would have killed all three of the guys without the least hesitation, had I found them. I searched for them for months. I guess I'm lucky I didn't find them. :-(

The repercussions of violence ripple far and wide, I know.
So sorry.
*hugs*
