TRUE or FALSE?

Happy Saturday, LJers,

Based on some responses I've gotten to a few of my more 'colorful' posts, I think I should clarify something. I do, indeed, add a bit of fiction to some of my posts, but only for humorous effect. (Interestingly enough, I just realized I never add fiction to make something more dramatic or serious.)

Anyway, the post I put up the other day about my friend's computer was, essentially, all true EXCEPT for the part about her reaction. She loves me so much that she could never get angry at me (nor, I at her). She tried to refuse to let me buy her a new computer but I insisted because it was 'the right thing to do'. BTW, she has since mailed me a check for half the cost. She followed up with a telephone call imploring me to keep it. I have not decided whether to deposit or not. So, I added the bits about her being upset etc because, (I'm guessing here) perhaps I thought she SHOULD react that way and because I felt guilty etc. And, because I thought they added humor to an otherwise pretty sad story. :-)

The story about my friend Cindy, on the other hand, is completely true. I love Cindy, too. She is great, a true, original, piece of work. The computer friend, Lisa, is my dearest friend in all the world. She and I wrote a novel together, one of the most wonderful experiences of my entire life.

I think perhaps I should start adding 'caveats' to my posts to let you know whether they are true or fictionalized. Most are 'mostly' true, anyway. I don't just make up stuff to put on here. I don't want to burn up my creative energy except for my 'official' writing. And, of course, for lying to girlfriends. :-)

If you ever have a question about anything I post here, please feel free to ask. Hmm, maybe I should put that in my profile. Somebody remind me in a day or two in case I forget, okay? :-)

Truthfully yours,

Bituminous Mung.

P.S. I already went and edited my Profile to let prospective readers know how I operate. :-)
