It is the rare occasion a countess of Xanadu actually visits the city. Once upon a time, she visited the lands her estate overlooked quite frequently; it was a sign of a good ruler, impeccable care for the helpless peasants, but that was once upon a time. There are no peasants now, no politics, no war, just self-sustaining people. Elizabeth misses the power, but she reassures herself that she has more time to care (...whatever that means to a psychopath) for her family and Carmilla; there is power in that, at least.
So today, Elizabeth graces the city with her presence, parasol in hand (a habit from Carmilla) to shield her pale skin from the light. With her are several attendants (they must be new to not run when given the chance) and a young woman nearly melded to her side; most would guess she is the countess' younger sister - pale, too and dark in her facial features - but is, in actuality, one of her daughters. As it is, resurrection has left the Báthory family permanently young because apparently, they didn't have enough problems before.
