☩Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes☩

For the first time, Morgana is slightly later than she would like delivering her offering to her patron.  She thinks she has just made it on time, but is not entirely certain.  Although the offering in question is not only made by her own hands (anyone who witnessed her doing so, may have found some amusement) but also she met someone she hopes ( Read more... )

Tara hasn't seen Morgana in much longer than she'd like, and she's happy to answer the question by way of saying hello.

"What sort of traditions are you looking for? Personal ones, or more general onces that just mean something personally?"

The second familiar voice is greeted with slightly less enthusiasm. It is not that Morgana is not pleased to see Miss Maclay; she is ashamed at how long she has left things since her letter. In a way, leaving things this long has made Morgana feel like she is avoiding the inevitable.

"Miss Maclay, I hope you have been in good health since we last met. I was hoping for those that would be familiar to many. I am hoping to plan something but would not wish to rely on the traditions with which I was raised."

"Of course." Tara hasn't wanted to push, and she's had a lot on her mind herself. If Morgana doesn't bring it up herself, she isn't going to push.

"There's a lot of music that's traditional. I always enjoyed that. And a lot of candles. My mother used to put one in all our windows."

"That is a lovely idea. I have some lovely tapers that would decorate the dining room rather nicely."

Morgana will bring it up, but not quite yet.

"What style of music is traditional? I am afraid my knowledge on the matter is limited." Sure, she studied up on more popular music for the opening of the Mare, and took the advice of many as to what should be played, but beyond that, she has not had much of an opportunity to go through the 1500 year song catalogue of human history.

"All sorts. Some of it is more religious, and they're quite old by my time, and then people come up with new things every year. If- if you wanted, I could bring a few recordings for you?" Tara wants to be helpful, but not pushy.

"That would be very helpful. I would like to have you come and see my new home."

Morgana was saddened Tara could not make it to the opening of the Mare, but refrains from saying so, as she does not mean to sound like she was annoyed by it.

"I did ask an important favour of you, months ago, and I am afraid I am the one at fault for not setting a time or place."

"No - I was going to apologize. It's been a strange time, and I haven't been here, in Xanadu, as regularly as I'd hope. If you'd like to start, we can. Or... or we can wait until after the holidays, if that's better?" She's not trying to dodge, but rather to genuinely gauge Morgana's feelings on the matter.

Morgana's put things off more than long enough. "Do not apologize. It is unacceptable that I have not had you as a guest in my home earlier. I would like to," no matter what, Morgana is always going to be uncomfortable about these things, "determine the nature of the matter as soon as possible."

On a happier note, "Perhaps then you could bring me some of this music you spoke of?"

"Of course. Maybe in a few days?" She has a battery-powered CD player that should work fine in the Nexus, and surely she can round up a few Christmas CDs by then. "We could have a meal before or after, if you'd like."

The Mare has electricity, though Morgana's not one to use it, whenever she can avoid it. She uses candlelight in her own chambers.

"That would be lovely. I look forward to it."

Then there is another, easier request.

"If I were to hold a gathering at my home this season, I was thinking the 21st" for personal and traditional reasons, "would you be able to attend?" She is careful how to phrase it, to avoid putting any pressure on Miss Maclay. Morgana does not think her fragile, but something seems entirely wrong with doing so to someone so kind.

Tara smiles, warmly. "I would love to. Living in Sunnydale, I can't totally guarantee that the world won't explode or anything, but barring emergencies, I'll be happy to come."

Sadly, she isn't kidding about the world exploding.

Morgana's eyebrows raise a little at the idea of the world exploding. There is literally, nothing she can say to that.

"It is asking you to make two trips to Xanadu in a short period of time, and I did not wish to overtax you."

"It's not taxing," Tara says, softer. Xanadu is, in fact, an escape more often than not. "I enjoy it here."

"That is a relief. Tell me, how have you been keeping?" Though the day is cold, Morgana is willing to linger a while for the conversation.

"I'm okay. Things have been... mostly quiet, really. Congratulations, by the way, on your inn." She smiles. "You must be excited, having it open."

"I shall be proud to show it to you. It is not large, but I hope it is comfortable for my guests." Morgana responds, with all appropriate modesty, though she is very proud of what she's managed to accomplish.

There are things she is still trying to work out as a business woman, but she's leaning quickly.
