Hello. If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you be willing to part with?_

Can you define 'sense' for me?

There are the traditional five, but if you have some other means to acquire input for perception, then by all means, feel free to discuss it.

Sense of balance, sense of direction and sense of temperature comes to mind. In the more abstract, there is are allegedly some senses of propriety, order and decency, among others. Also popular: common sense.

I hadn't thought to add those to the list, thank you!

If you don't mind me continuing to ask more, which do you value the most? Which do you use the most?

You may wish to stick proprioception on your list as well. Aristotle isn't a bad place to start, but we like to think we've had some ideas since.

I don't mind, however I can't list senses in the order of what perceived value they may have to me; to some extent they are all necessary. On your second question, I can't be sure. Curious; what makes you think the experience of sensing can be quantified?

The sum of the experience being far greater than the constituent parts, I see.

I know that people have attempted to quantify the experience, but I'm not sure it can be.

That, or I'm indecisive.

Experience seems an inherently subjective thing, and if so would prove difficult to measure. Why the curiosity?
