It was over. She knew it in her gut. The one factor that could bring Hades down was out for the count and now he was on his way to set the Titans free to wreak their havoc on Mount Olympus. And she was finally, after years of servitude and entrapment, free.
It didn't feel as good as she'd thought it would.
Especially when another monster came roaring into town, leaving destruction, fire, and injured people in his path. That could have just been a coincidence - after all, Thebes had been pretty lousy with monsters before Hercules had come along - but she knew it wasn't. Hades just wanted to ensure that he'd be out for the count, that he wouldn't foil his master plan, and it made her hate him even more.
He was fighting him now, determined to keep the city safe, but it wasn't working without his strength - he was being tossed around like a ball, knocked into walls and she couldn't watch anymore, she couldn't let this happen. She knew it was probably too late to salvage whatever relationship they'd had, and that hurt, but maybe she could still do something, maybe she could still save his life.
Hearing Pegasus whinnying in a nearby room, she burst through the doors -
- and onto the streets of an entirely unfamiliar city.
This couldn't be right.
Megara ran a few steps more before coming to a stop and looked around, panting slightly, panic and fear still her eyes. They narrowed as she studied her surroundings - she'd never seen any place like this before. A few minutes more, after catching some more of her breath, she addressed a question to the population (or, more accurately, muttered to herself): "Where in Zeus's name am I?"
