So we've been together for like a month now and in six weeks she's moving to New York. The reality of the situation is that we probably both cant get by surviving as starving artist in NY. Don't move unless it would make YOU happy on your own. You can't say "I'll be with her, I'll be happy". No, you have to say "no matter what happens in New York I'll be happy." You have to be happy with yourself and feel satisfied as a human being on your own before you can be with someone else.

And, let her go up there first and see how she's doing. Try it for 6 months-a year. If you can't live without each other and you have made it through a year of long distance - then it's worth it. Take it from one going through it.

agreed. it's hard. fucking hard. the long distance thing. coming from someone else doing it. but it will definitely tell you whether or not you both feel the same way about each other. vital since you've only been together a month. i hope everything works out for you, and you get everything you want, man. you deserve it.
