I have been a cancerslug fan for a very long time, and I must say the New Album Battle Hymms is pretty good even though it is all old songs redone, but it atleast gives a little taste of early Cancerslug, the production value on this cd is not that great unless they are going for a fuzzy sound and Alex doesn't have as much Elvisey twang as he use ( Read more... )

Sierra agreeing doesn't add much flava to the arguement, couples agreeing (outside of the relationship) is like cumming on a hookers face, it's expected.

First off, Alabama Bloodbath was the pinnacle of Cancerslug's career. They should spend the rest of their days duplicating and elaborating on that album. Changing that would be like taking a dump on a diamond. I remember back before Bobby had a Cancerslug tattoo there was a time when they were all set to call it quits pretty much forever. Back when Battle Hymns was SUPPOSED to be out. The message on their main page read something like this "Cancerslug is through, we've taken it as far as we felt it should go. But I will be forming a new band that will be the darkest hardest thing you'll ever hear..." that's not an exact quote but it's the jist. And they've failed to deliver anything to those specifications. Curse Arcanum was their most musical album that i've heard (i've yet to hear anything off of Battle Hymns) but it wasn't as interesting an album. All the phrasing of the lyrics felt really forced like they were more interested in being musican rather than an all around great band. Alabama Bloodbath might be pedestrian as far as musical ability goes, but its fuckin punk rock, not math. And it was just such a good fucking creative album and when I think Cancerslug I think Alabama Bloodbath... and nothing else.
