Last week I got a coupon from the protein bar company I've ordered from in the past. Usually unless they've got some super promotion going I get my bars from Clark's (local health food/grocery store) because they're cheaper that way (not sure exactly why they're cheaper through a store than direct from the manufacturer but I figure stores get super discounts or something...*shrugs*). Well, at 25% off I'd be saving like $0.30/bar so needless to say I ordered some! (I also ordered some snack bars that aren't available in any stores that I've seen, but that's beside the point...)
So, apparently this protein bar company has partnered with Amazon to make people eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping! Needless to say, excited as I am to be saving a whopping $0.30/bar I opted for Free Super Saver Shipping! and they informed me my items would be arriving around May 19th. Bummer seeing as I ordered them May 5th, but oh well. I can wait for cheap protein bars, yes?
So on Friday Amazon decides that one item in my order is taking too long and they're going to ship the rest of the order to get my items to me faster! Yay! I get my bars on May 16th now! Excitement abounds!
Then this morning I get an e-mail saying that my remaining item shipped last night! (Yes, that's right, odd as that sounds, apparently the post office started shipping my package Sunday night...but that's still not the part I don't understand.)
Now, the main shipment left on May 8th and is due to arrive on May 16th. My late item left on May 10th and...get this...is due to arrive on May 13th! O.o How is that possible? Is it a package size thing or that it left from a closer facility?
*checks package locations* Okay, so the main order shipped from Kentucky, and the remaining item shipped from Nevada which is significantly closer to California, but still...it's going to take FIVE extra days for my package to travel from Kentucky to California than it did for the other to travel from Nevada? I /drove/ from Ohio to California and stopped every night to sleep and it only took 4 days...and that included a half a day spent hanging around my aunt's house in Indiana... O.o
I don't understand...
