So remember how I talked about how my mom was a bit annoyed with me in my last post? Yeah, we talked about it and she understood why I was annoyed with my cousin and her "friends". She assumed that I was all, "Oh, I don't like they solely based on the fact that they were playing a drinking game," because she knows that I play them, too, at school. When I explained to her that I didn't like the fact that they were playing them at a family get-together to get drunk and that my cousin was pressuring me to drink, she was like, "Oh, ok. I understand now. Sorry for getting on your case." :) Point to me. :D
Work was okay today. I got a decent amount of files sorted and stuff, but I also read all three of the stories posted to the dgficexchange. I'd rather not state my opinions about them because I have fellow D/G authors on my f-list (although not that many in comparison to the _twat frands I have ;) ), so f-locking won't really do much, but if you're reaaaaallly curious, then comment and I'll reply to your comment with my opinions. :)
I also read a couple of my stories because I need to start writing my WIPs again. I haven't updated The Prince in close to a year and I started writing the next chapter, but my wanting to write the story kind of waxes and wanes. I also have 2,101 words, exactly, written for chapter 9 of Theories on How Danger Finds Us, but I'm thinking about tweaking some of it slightly based on reviews I've gotten from people all, "OMG THAT'S WAAAAAAAAYYYY TOO MUCH TO SEE GARETH TAKE GINNY TO AUSTRIA ON A FIRST DATE." Okay. First of all, THEY'RE FUCKING WIZARDING FOLK. Like, no joke, if I were a witch or a wizard, I wouldn't waste my time going to some local shop or restaurant or something lame on a first date if I could go to another COUNTRY. I would totally be taking advantage of that. And my reasoning is that some members of the wizarding world would think along the same lines that I did and Gareth just happens to be one of those people. So I think I might add something like that to Gareth and Ginny's dialogue with each other so people stop their complaining and because I feel like it.
Besides, my motto when it comes to my stories has always been that I write stories for myself. If people happen to like them, awesome. If not, then they can just click to get away from my story. I apply that same thought process when reading other stories. If I don't like something, I'm not going to waste my time continuing. You should always enjoy yourself when reading or writing fanfiction because it's not like you're getting paid for it and people do it in their spare time, so why bother reading or writing something you don't enjoy?
