Well, I never expected it to happen, but I seem to be in the middle of a work drought. Most of the attorneys are out of the office, most of my projects are waiting for somebody else's input and I'm down to my backup assignments - the ones without any palpable deadline or requisite skill for completion. My day has consequently gone pretty slowly, aside from my daring four pm raid on the unlabeled food in the fridge (scheduled for mass execution via dumpster at five). I should be able to leave at 4:30, since I got in early, but these last few minutes are endless.
The tango festival starts up tonight so I am, naturally, coming down with some cold or other (it's essentially a law of nature that I will get sick before a major dance event). It's not too bad (well, with the sheer tedium of having *nothing* to do has magnified the numbing effects), but I seem to know a number of people who started off with something that was "not too bad" who then progressed to "Bronte-esque invalid," so I'm trying to take it easy. This combined with my necessary frugality is really putting a crimp in tango anticipation. I'm not sure if I'm going to make much of an appearance this year, alack. Probably I will blitzkrieg the damned thing on Saturday - attend the alternative milonga, the fancy milonga and the all nighter - and have done. I might go to the outdoor milonga on Sunday, but honestly I had a miserable time last year and I am sort of angling to get up early again for another long run, if I'm not utterly consumptive in true Bronte fashion by that time.
