"When you put in, you get back." Nice one Kim Beazely - for a Liberal party slogan. Isn't this the very esscence of economic conservatism?
... and (explicit) election promises already! It's good to see him at least try to come up with ideas different to that of the government. The tragedy is that the underlying approach is basically the same. He's all reaction and no charisma, vision or passion. Paul Keating was passionate about economic reform. A dreadfully boring topic, but vital for a politician.
That said, congrats to him on the apprenticeships policy. It's a welcome start. The education policy too (it's about bloody time).
...does anyone else find it odd he was all Labor policy right from the start? Not much of a 'reply' in this budget. He's making good points and a couple of good policies, but no vision. It's devastating. I wish he had more - we really need an attractive alternative to John Howard.

He's making really good points now - and rather encouraging. Keatingisms are slowly coming out with the CAD stuff. Costello looks galled. I'm voting for Labor - even if they are boring.
