Christmas eve and not a santa in sight.
Aside from my mother's awful driving adventrues (today she disregarded the grass divider that seperates the street from the parking lot and drove over it in the midst of a traffic jam at cross county), my day was really very good. I went to courteney's Christmas dinner party thing. It was soo much fun! There were lots of peopel there. Diana, Anita, Mary, All the cannons, Tony and his brother Jimmy,rachel and marlaina,and paul and peter and stefanie and her boyfriend steve. They served alot of fish which I didn't eat, and the usual schnitzel and penne with vodka sauce. Me, rachel and courteney and marlaina spent a good portion of the evening talking to courteney's dad, who really does look like harrison ford and knows alot of weird stuff. He made me feel soooo unsure about all the crap I know lol. Like that damned question about the difference between Hebrew and yiddish. Or the similarity.yea similarity. But I learned alot of new perspectives on things. Like the Israeli/Palestinian dispute. That's why I want to go to college. I want to meet more people like that who make me wonder about all these new ideas and philosophies and stuff. I want to really expand my mind and learn as much as I can about the world and history and all that. Me and Alex cannon talkedalot too. We ended up having alot in common. She likes history and english and grammar (not so much me, more my dad) and she does alot of art like me.
I really do love history. It's truly my passion. To think that I could be the first person to bear witness to some 5,000 year old artifact is remarkable. To be allowed to uncover those sorts of mysteries and solve those ancient puzzles and be emmersed in all that ancient culture and tradition and supersticoun is breathtaking. The concepts that were around before today were so unbeleivable and different from what people beleive today. And at the same time, it's really amazing how some things have survived the test of time so well. Almost every educated person knows what the Odyssy (which I think I spelled wrong)is. Gilgamesh too. And they are all aware of the pyramids and davinci and whatnot. Think how different the world would be if we had soem of the old manuscripts held at the library of alexandria that were burned to ash!
Alright. That's enough of that. WEll, All in all today was a good day. A really good day.
