Awakenings
Waking up in the arms of a woman was nothing new to Teddy. Waking up in the arms of a live, breathing, very much enthusiastic woman, now that was something he experienced all too infrequently. He sighed into Susan’s mouth as she slid her fingers over his chest, both of them only half-awake, every touch a new, soft, sweet, dream-like sensation. Her hair was all over his face, smelling of baby powder and tangerines, telling tales of a woman taking care of an eight-year-old girl that still liked Momma to bathe her. Her fingers were slightly rough, testament to a life of chopping celery sticks and carrots for healthy snacks, doing the washing up because dishwashers were too expensive to run, and tidying up after careless innocence.
Her nipples were warm and responsive under his sleepy hands, his wandering mouth. Her belly was marked with the raised silver traces of bringing two new lives into the world, the thatch of hair between her legs stiff with the results of last night’s endeavours. The combined taste of their sweat and desire was too delicious for him to resist. He made her come, once, twice with his lips, his tongue, his fingers, and as the rising sun lit up her skin with a golden, magical glow, he marvelled at the extraordinary good luck that had allowed him to be reborn.
