*chapter 15*

The sun was shining brighter than usual that Sunday morning, a beam had escaped the curtains and found it’s way directly into the younger boy’s eyes, causing him to quickly snap out of thought. Jin had been standing on the exact spot since that early morning. Somehow he didn’t seem to be paying any attention to his tasks. His soul seem to had wondered off, leaving the boy empty-shelled-- unable to pay any attention to his surroundings.

The accident that had occurred the day before kept the boy unable to think straight. Though he had try his best not to think much about it, it kept wanting to replay itself.

Jin slowly touched his neck, but at that contact, chills ran throughout his body, as his mind flew away from reality. The scene from the night before flashes through his eyes.

Jin was pinned down on the bed, he found himself not able to move, frightened by the look on Kazuya’s eyes. The devil smirked at him and lowered his head down to the boy’s neck, biting it. At the contact of the other’s lips, Jin suddenly remember the scene that occurred before, when the old dirty man had done the same. Jin closed his eyes tightly, trying to regain his strength, “STOP!” he cried, struggling now.

However, the cry went unheard as Kazuya continued. He unbuttoned the younger boy’s blouse, his cold hand roamed Jin’s chest, making him panic. He had to regain his strength, he couldn’t let this happen. Jin started pushing and pulling the devil off him. Kazuya was too close for him to throw a proper punch, his body pinning down Jin’s own, “LET GO OF ME!” he yelled.

With Jin’s struggle and consistent hits to Kazuya‘s back, the devil suddenly ripped open Jin’s blouse, revealing the younger boy’s chest. He grabbed Jin’s hands and pinned them down over the boy’s head as he continued to leave his mark on the boy’s neck, slowly making it down his collar bone. With one hand holding Jin’s wrists, he brought the other down Jin’s skirt, attempting to unzip it.

“STOP!!” Jin yelled, struggling hard to get out of Kazuya’s grip .

This was going too far, it was too fast, too scary for the other to think straight. Jin could feel the tears approaching his eyes. He was hoping that someone, anyone, would hear his cries, it was his only hope, since his own strength was slowly breaking down. He has to yell for help, in order to do that, he has to catch his breath. For a second, a brief moment, he stopped struggling, trying to calm down his racing heart to be able to control his voice. But before any words could escape his mouth, the devil forcefully sealed the younger boy’s lips with his own. Jin’s eyes widen, as he froze, not knowing what to think anymore. Before losing himself fully to the kiss, Jin quickly bit down hard.

At the pain, Kazuya jolted away, releasing the other as he brought a hand to touch his lip, it was bleeding. He angrily looked up at Jin, but at the sight, it caught him off guard.

The younger boy stared back at him terrified, his eyes full of fear and tears as he try to hold his clothes together. Just like how he had looked the night Ryo had brought him home.

Kazuya stared at him for a long while, almost as if he was seeing through his soul and at that moment, Jin didn’t know how to react. He just sat there looking back at Kazuya‘s mystified face, seeing it with the help of the moonlight. He didn’t understand why, but he became lost in the other’s eyes. He knew he should be running now, but he couldn’t move.

“Go…” Kame suddenly whispered. As if that was the word to break the spell of that frozen moment, Jin quickly regain his thoughts. He looked away from the other’s gaze and ran toward the door. But as the light from the hallway flashed through the room, the silence was again broken, “Don’t think that I’m that low,” Kazuya whispered, causing Jin to stop, “I might had hired someone to scare you, but I will never go as low as telling them to rape you…” Jin looked up and slowly turn to see that Kazuya was still at the same spot, his back facing Jin and the light casting his great shadow at the wall, “Next time if you accuse me, I definitely won’t stop.”

Hearing the devil’s word, his heart was racing, a quick thought ran through his mind. Did he go too far this time? He too, was at fault for this. Gathering all his strength, he ran out the door without saying anything.

Jin quickly snapped back to reality, remembering what Kazuya had said before he left and realizing that he did accused the other. Jin shook his head, “Maybe I did go too far…” he mumbled, “Should I go and apologize?” he asked, not knowing what to think anymore.

“JIN!” someone yelled from a distance away, catching the boy’s attention.

Jin quickly turned toward the direction of the voice, there at the end of the hallway stood the smiley boy, as he approached him. “So you were hiding here?!” he added, getting closer to the other.

Jin stared at him in confusion, “Were you looking for me?”

Junno smiled, “Of course!” he answered, “I haven’t seen you since yesterday! What happened to you, it seem like you just disappeared from sight.”

Jin gave a nervous smile, “Well, now I’m here!”

Junno glared at him, “You!” he yelled, “Were you going to clean our assigned floors without me?!” he asked sarcastically.

Jin laughed, “No, of course not!” he paused, “I couldn’t find you, that’s why I decided to start first.”

“Don’t lie to me now!”

Jin smiled as he placed his arm around the taller boy’s shoulder, “No worries! I just started,” he paused, “I haven’t even touch a spot!”

Junno smiled back, “Better!”

They both laughed, as they started cleaning the floor.

While cleaning the floor, Jin was occupied by Junno, so he didn’t think much about what had occurred the night before and before he knew it, the hours had flew by.

*********

He knew it was past noon, but he didn’t feel like getting up, though laying in bed wasn’t actually working either as the bright sun continues to force his eyes open. He tossed over to his stomach, away from the light as he slowly opened his eyes to see his room in a mess. Jin was crying. He closed his eyes again, burying his face into his pillow. He bit into Jin’s flesh, he heard the younger boy scream. He-

“FUCK!” he yelled, as he quickly sat up, pissed of seeing the scenes replaying in his mind. He didn’t understand why he reacted in such a way, he seriously didn’t know what was wrong with him. Why did he suddenly attack Jin like that? Why did he care so much?

“GAH!” he has to stop thinking about it, he has to- Kazuya suddenly paused as he felt his lip throbbing in pain. He slowly reached up to touch his lips-- the spot where Jin had bitten.

Jin’s sadden look flashes across his eyes. He shook his head and tiredly lay back down on his bed, “What was I doing?” he mumbled, staring up at his ceiling, touching his busted lips, “What gotten into me?”

Quickly Kazuya sat up, staring at his room once more, he quickly shook his head as he stood up and entered the bathroom.

“You’re nothing but a damn devil!”

Kazuya opened his eyes as he stared at himself in the mirror, “Devil…” he mumbled.

*********

Yamapi was focusing on getting his homework done when he suddenly remember the older boy from yesterday, making him stop, “Was I too rude?” he mumbled.

Looking at the blank wall in front of him, his mind flew, “All he was trying to do was help me… why was I so rude to him?”

Quickly he shook it off, “It’s okay, I’ll just look pass it.” he said, looking back down at his homework.

But the more he try to forget it, the more his guilt built up, “Should I go and apologize?” he mumbled, “No!” he called out, shaking his head, “He should had mind his own business, did I ask him for help? No.” he argued with himself.

Still thinking about it, he try to focus on his homework once more. Bringing up the pencil and placing it on his lips, he pouted, “But… if he wasn’t there I could had gotten more injuries. Just because I dislike Kazuya, shouldn’t mean that I should dislike everyone in the household, right?” Yamapi thought, as he stopped doing his homework once more. “Besides, Jin lives there.”

He stared at the blank wall once more before standing up, “I should go and apologize.” he finally concluded.

But before he could leave, he suddenly stopped, “Wouldn’t it be weird for me to suddenly show up?” he mumbled, quickly he shook it off, “No matter what, I have to apologize today.” he convinced himself, taking another step, “But…” he paused, “Maybe I should go to the market first.”

*********

Maru laid there in bed, not wanting to get up. Though it was already mid-afternoon, his mind haven’t woken up yet, it was still in its own world. The smile of the older boy’s had continuously popped in his mind the whole morning. His smile; that smile he had on his face, as he was greeting the lady from the café. Maru had only seen Koki smile like that toward his childhood friend who mean the whole world to him, but this time, this time it was toward her.

Maru looked up at the ceiling as the older boy’s face popped up and smiled, seeing the face, Maru’s heart started racing faster. Each beat his heart made, there was a ache that came with it.

He slowly place his hand over his chest, feeling his heart beating along with the aching it brought, “What’s wrong with me?” he mumbled.

Still staring up to the ceiling above him, the picture of the older boy pop up once again, but this time it was much clearer; as if he was actually sitting across from Maru again. Staring at the older boy, his eyes wonder off, as he still had that smile on his face.

Quickly Maru stood up, “Something’s wrong with me!” he called out, still not understand what he’s facing, “What’s wrong with me? What’s up with this pain? How come I keep seeing him over and over again!!” he yelled, as he shoved his face into a pillow.

Closing his eyes, all he see is the older boy; his face, his smile, the way his lips move when he talked, everything about the boy keep popping into his mind.

Quickly he lay back in bed, “What’s wrong with me?” he repeated, as he placed his hand over his chest once more.

*********

As the breeze blew on Ueda’s face, the words that was said the day before flew passed his ears, the emotions on the boy’s face replay itself once more. “Because of the misunderstanding… It helped me better understand where we stand, I am just a maid, and you, you are someone I can never reach up to.”

Ueda opened his eyes, the tears on the older boy’s face reappear in Ueda’s mind. Ueda’s cover his face with both his hand, “I can’t let it end here, it can’t end here…” he repeated.

“Please take care of yourself.”

The older boy’s word continued to play in the Ueda’s ears. “No, no, no this can’t happen, it can’t end here.”

Not knowing what to do anymore, Ueda sat there as he took a glance up into the sky, “I would let the time recover you heart first, before I meet you once again, and this time, this time everything would be clear.”

*********

Taking a break from their chores, Junno and Jin rested up in the kitchen.

“Jin,” Junno called out getting the younger boy’s attention, as he smiled, “Other than work, we don’t talk much.”

Jin smiled back, “That’s true.”

Junno quickly sat up and straighten himself, “Let’s get to know each other more than just co-worker.” he suddenly suggested, “Since we are going to be partners for a long time.” he added.

Jin nodded in agreement.

Junno smiled energetically, “I’m very curious about this,” he started, “How is it cleaning Master Kazuya’s room?”

Jin shrugged, “I don’t know,” he paused, “There’s days when it’s okay, then there those other days when it’s a mess to clean. I think his room goes with his mood.”

Junno laughed, “I had always wanted to clean both Madam and Master Kazuya’s rooms.”

“Really?”

Junno nodded, “Coming here, I had always wanted to clean the two’s rooms.”

“Why?”

“No reason at all, it’s just… I don’t know, something about Master Kazuya’s room that makes me want to clean it.”

“We should go ask Madam if we can switch our roles then.” Jin suggested.

Junno quickly disagree, “No.” he said, “Since you told me it’s messy, I don’t want that.” he joked.

Jin pouted, “So I should be the only one suffering?”

“YEP!” Junno laughed it off, “Is that all you have to do for the rest of today?”

Jin nodded, “Since Master Kazuya and I have a assignment to do together, Madam didn’t assign me that much chores this week.”

“Ahh… That’s good then!”

Jin shook his head in disagreement though as he looked away a bit worried

*********

Yamapi took one quick skim of the whole grocery store, before he headed outside to keep an eye on all the customers that were entering and exiting the store. “Would you be here today?” he wondered staring at the entrance.

After a long while of standing there, he decided to go back in and scan the store once more, just in case he accidentally overlooked someone.

Walking thoroughly around the whole store, he checked each aisles, took another glances at each customers, yet the boy was nowhere to be found. “I guess… You aren’t here today.” he mumbled walking out the door.

Taking a glance up into the sky, he took a deep breath, “What should I do now?” he mumbled in disappointment, not really wanting to go to Kazuya’s house.

*********

Jin paced around outside the devil’s room, not knowing if he should enter the room, or wait until the other leaves the room.

He walked back and forth in front of the devil’s door, each time he passed the door, he would stop and stare at it, then continued to walk back and forth again. “Gah! What am I going to do?!” he mumbled, frustrated as he found himself staring at the door once more. “Master Kazuya, I’m coming in.” he whispered next to the door. Quickly he shook his head, “No, no, I can’t.” he said, as he started pacing in front of the door again.

“Be a good boy…” Jin heard, as he suddenly stopped and stared at the door once more, “and listen to them.” His mother words started replaying itself in the boy’s mind.

“I’m sorry mom,” he started, “I couldn’t be the good boy like you asked,” he paused, “I had committed a crime that I can’t face.”

Jin closed his eyes, “Be a good boy…” his mother’s word replayed itself once more, as he opened his eyes and took a deep breath, “Nothing happened, nothing at all.” he repeated to himself as he walked up to the door.

Taking another deep breath, he raised his arm to knock on the door, just when he was about to knock, the door flew open.

There in front of the boy, stood the devil, staring straight at him.

Jin’s confidence vanished, his heart dropped, he couldn’t say anything-- his voice suddenly disappeared, nothing was coming out as he opened his month. Quickly he bowed, clearing his throat, “Good… Good evening Master Kazuya.” he managed to force out.

Without saying anything, the devil walked right passed him and toward the stairs.

Jin stood there unable to move, still bowing to no one in front of him, after awhile he finally stood up and took a glance over at the stairs. Slowly a slight smile appear, “Nothing happened.” he mumbled, grabbing his materials and entering the room.

The room was still a mess from the night before. Looking around the room, the memories started to come back. Quickly Jin shook his head, “Nothing happened, nothing ever happened.” he mumbled, as he started cleaning the room.

“You’re nothing but a damn devil.” Jin froze in place as his words started replaying itself, quickly he shook it off, “Nothing happened.” he mumbled once more.

Jin slowly looked over to where the accident had occurred, “I went overboard, it was my fault.” he mumbled.

Once again he shook his head, and went back to cleaning.

After awhile of cleaning, Kazuya entered the room, not saying one word to Jin, he went straight toward his bed and sat down.

The room was completely silence, all one could hear was Jin’s cleaning, though there was no noise to represent the existence of the devil, Jin slowly started feeling uncomfortable.

Jin took a couple of glances over at the other during the time he was cleaning, yet not once did the devil look away from his book. He continued to touch his cut lip, making Jin unconsciously touched his own too, but he caught himself and shook it off, “Should I apologize?” he thought, “Maybe not.” he mumbled, not really wanting to bring up the event, “But…”

Jin finally finished cleaning the room, just when he was about to leave, he took a glance at the boy one last time, “Master Kazuya,” he managed to say, breaking the silence.

Kazuya didn’t answer, nor did he looked up from his book.

“Umm…” he started, “Sorry!” he quickly said as he bowed and was about to take his leave.

“Remember,” Kazuya suddenly said, stopping Jin from leaving, “5:00 sharp.”

Jin quickly turn to face him, and nodded, as he bowed one last time before he left.

After the door close behind him, he collapse to the ground. His legs completely lost all it’s energy, his heart was racing faster than before, but he felt a lot better. There was no longer the burden to hold him down, his heart was at ease. Slowly a smile formed once more, “Nothing had happened, no guilt, no nothing.”

*********

Yamapi stood there outside of the grocery store, still having hope that the older boy would appear. He continued to walk into the store checking the store thoroughly if he missed anyone.

After checking the store thoroughly, he would stand back outside, watching customers enter and exit the store, yet no one was the boy from yesterday.

He quickly let out a sigh as he looked down to the ground, “What should I do…” he mumbled.

“Excuse me…” someone suddenly said from behind him, causing him to smile and quickly turned around, just to find out that it was just an elder man standing in front of him, still, he held onto the smile, even though he was disappointed.

“Yes?” he asked.

“Are you the young man that continued to go in and out of the store?” he asked.

Yamapi stare at the elder man confusedly, as he process what he just said. Suddenly he gave out a nervous smile, “Sorry!” he quickly bowed, “I didn’t mean to continued to search the store! I’m waiting for someone.”

The elder man laughed, “That’s good to hear! My wife thought you were planning to robbed the store, since you kept entering it without buying anything.” he explained.

“I am truly sorry!” Yamapi bowed once again, “I didn’t mean to scare anyone, I‘m sorry!”

The elder man continued to laughed as he patted Yamapi on the shoulder, “I understand,” he started, “When I was your age, I too made a mistake and did the exact same thing you are doing right now.”

Yamapi was now confused on what the older man was talking about.

“I hope she understand you, and see how worthy you are to not lose you,” he said, “I hope she’ll accept you again.” he added, as he patted Yamapi on the shoulder and walked back into the store.

Yamapi stood there unable to think, “Accept…?” he mumbled. Suddenly his eyes widen, “Oh no!” he called out, finally realizing what the man meant, he turned around, but the older man wasn’t there anymore.

He chuckled as he shook his head, “Won’t lose me…?” he mumbled, as he looked around again, but the other was no where in sight. Giving a sigh, he looked at the ground, “I guess, you won’t come today.” he mumbled.

Quickly he looked up ahead of him, “No, I can’t give up yet.” he said, “No matter what, I have to apologize to him.” he called out, determined as he took a glance at the store, he didn’t want to enter it anymore, now that he realized that his presence was making people cautious of him. He gave out another sigh, there really was no hope.

Yamapi slowly walked down the road, suddenly he stopped, “No, I have to apologize!” he said, “Even if…” he paused, “Even if that mean I have to meet him at his house.” he finished, as he quickly changed his mood “I have to.”

**********

While mopping the first floor, Jin took a glance at his watch, “4:45,” he read, “I still have 15 minutes to finished up.” he said, as he continued to clean his floor, he didn’t want to be late, especially since Kazuya did instruct him specifically.

Jin was able to be punctual, feeling like he had finished up faster than usual. He stood up and stretched his back as he glanced down at his watch to see how fast he finish and suddenly his eyes widen, “It’s 5:05 already!” he yelled, as he quickly grabbed a hold of all his cleaning supplies and enter the kitchen. Luckily enough, Junno entered the kitchen too, “Junno!” he called out, getting the other’s attention.

“Ye-”

“Can you help me?!” he interrupted, but before Junno could even answer, Jin already placed the items in his hands, “Please help me put these away.” he begged.

Junno nodded in agreement, “No problems!” he laughed out, a bit confused, yet it was funny to see the other so anxious.

“Thank you! Thank you!” he bowed, as he quickly left the kitchen.

He ran as fast as he can through the flight of stairs but as he reached Kazuya’s room, he stopped, trying to catch his breath.

After a couple of breathing to catch his breath, he stood up and straighten his uniform. Taking in one last deep breath, he knocked the door, “Master Kazuya,” he started, “It’s Jin.”

“Come in.”

Jin paused, his heart was racing, slowly he opened the door, he was ready to apologize. Kazuya had already told him 5:00 sharp, yet he wasn’t able to do it.

Once the door was completely opened, Jin quickly bowed down, “I’m sorry for being late!” he apologized.

Kazuya looked at him, as he shook his head, “Useless bastard.” he mumbled under his breath.

“I’m sorry!” he said once more, not willing to stand up straight and look at the other.

The older boy continued to shake his head, as he walked over to his desk.

Jin slowly stood up, closing the door behind him, as he too walked over.

Standing next to the desk, he stood there with his head down. Kazuya looked up at him irritated, “What? Are you planning on just standing there the whole time?!”

Jin bowed once more, “Sorry!” he apologized as he sat down on the chair next to him.

Seeing the boy settled down, he started explaining what was needed to get done tonight, so that tomorrow they can just do the finishing touch.

Jin nodded his head agreeing to the idea.

Both boys were working on the project in complete silence, no one would raise their voice to talk to the other.

Jin stared at his worksheet, not knowing what to do, but he was afraid to ask, since he already got Kazuya mad. Ignoring it, Jin went on to the next question, hoping he would understand it.

“Master Kazuya,” someone knocked on the door, breaking the silence, “May I come in?”

Kazuya looked over to the door, “Come in.”

Junno slowly opened the door, and bowed his head, “Sorry for interrupting you,” he said, “But someone had asked to meet Jin.”

Hearing this caused Jin to looked over at Junno, “Me?” he asked.

Junno nodded in agreement, “A boy, about your age, blackish brown hair” he started, “About his tall.” he said estimating the height to his own, “His name was…”

Jin was confused, “Who would come to meet me…” he mumbled, suddenly his eyes widen, “Yamapi?” he ask.

“Yeah! That’s his name, Yamashita-san.”

Jin looked over at Kazuya, “May I be excuse?” he asked.

“Go.” Kazuya said as he turned back to his desk.

Jin quickly stood up and bowed, “I’ll be back.” he said, as he hurried and left the room.

Kazuya sat there, gripping his pencil. He didn’t know what was wrong with him, his blood was boiling, he felt angry. Quickly he shook it off once more, “That useless person!” he mumbled, as he went back to his paper.

*********

Jin ran over to the gate, as he spotted the boy, “Yamapi.” he called out, waving at him.

Yamapi saw him as he smiled and waved back.

“What are you doing here?” he asked when he had reached where Yamapi stood.

“I have a problem.” Yamapi said staring at the ground.

Jin looked at him in confusion, “Problem?” he asked, “What kind of problem?”

The boy gave out a weak chuckle, “I made a mistake yesterday.” he explained.

Jin nodded his head.

“I need to meet someone, that’s why I’m here.”

Jin was more than confuse now, “I don’t understand. I don’t remember you making any mistake toward me yesterday.”

Yamapi shook his head, “No, it’s not you, it’s someone else.” he said.

The boy gave out a awkward smile, “I don’t understand.”

Yamapi looked down, it looked like he only had one choice and that was to explain the situation to him.

*********

Kazuya stood by his window as he stared straight down at them, “When you look at others, you see everything, even to the point of remembering their every feature,” he mumbled, “But toward me, you only see me as the devil?”

The more he looked at the smiling Jin and how he acted toward Yamapi, the more he felt his blood boiling, he was getting pissed off at the sight, “Stupid boy, you were late coming to meet me, but to him, you don’t even waste time, acting like he’s gonna die out there.” he mumbled angrily.

He quickly closed the curtains, “Stupid,” he mumbled, “Stupid boy!” he yelled, knocking down the vase standing on the nightstand to calm himself.

*********

Jin nodded his head, “I think I know who you are talking about,” he paused, rethinking about the detail the boy had just given him, “He have two moles on his left face, one under his eyes, while the other under his lips. Right?”

Yamapi nodded in agreement.

“I think it must be Nishikido Ryo?”

Yamapi shrugged, not knowing if he should agree or disagree, since he too, didn’t know the older boy’s name.

“It most be him. I’ll send him to you.” Jin said excitedly, taking his leave.

“Wait!” Yamapi yelled stopping the boy, “Are you sure it’s him? What if it isn’t him?”

Jin smile widely, “Then you can tell him the story and he would help you out.” he suggested.

Yamapi shook his head, “No.”

“Come on, everyone is nice, they’ll all understand you. Everyone’s willing to help here.”

Without saying anymore, Yamapi agree for Jin to leave.

Jin nodded once more and smile, “See you at school tomorrow!” he said, as he walked away.

Making his way inside, he try looking for Ryo, “Where is he…” he mumbled, looking all over the place.

Entering the kitchen, he hoped to spot the other, but unluckily, he wasn’t in there either. Jin walked around the first floor looking for the older boy.

Suddenly passing a window, he spotted Ryo outside watering the garden. Jin smiled and quickly made his way out there, “Ryo,” he called out, running toward the older boy.

Ryo looked over at him, “What?”

Jin nervously smile, “There’s someone here to meet you.” he said.

“Meet me? I thought there was someone here to meet you?”

The younger boy shook his head, “Oh no, they made a mistake. He’s here to meet you.”

“Me?”

He nodded, “He’s in the front waiting for you.”

Ryo gave Jin a confused look, “Me?” he repeated, “What for?”

The younger boy shrugged, “I don’t know.” he lied, “Well, go meet him, he been waiting for awhile now.” he added, “I’ll get going now.”

Ryo stood there confused, as he watched the boy disappear inside.

The older boy quickly put down the hose, turning it off and walked over to the front of the house.

Walking toward the gate, he saw the boy’s back, unable to recognize him, Ryo walked closer.

Suddenly the boy turn, and Ryo’s heart stopped, it was the boy from yesterday, the rude little boy, the boy that got beaten up.

Yamapi gave out a nervous smile, as he notice the boy walking closer to him, “Hey” he greeted.

Ryo nervously smiled back, “Hey.”

*********

Jin quickly made his way back to the devil’s room. Taking a deep breath, Jin knocked on the door once more, “Master Kazuya,” he started, “I’m back.”

“Come in.”

Jin slowly opened the door, as he popped his head inside first, seeing the devil’s back. He quickly made his way inside.

Closing the door behind him, he walked toward the devil, “Sorry for taking so long!” he bowed.

Kazuya didn’t answer but continued to do his work.

Jin quietly sat down next to him once more and continued his work.
