I was gonna put an epic ramble about New York up just now, but we just did too much and it's too overwhelming and I'll never finish it.
So I'm keeping it to myself. If I ever figure out cuts I'll post it.
Suffice to say it was beyond-words-wonderful and I miss it dreadfully. It rained the whole time and we were always tired and sore, my feet always hurt and I didn't get a tan. But I loved it.
Short highlights:
Shakespeare in the Park.
Phantom of the Opera.
Listening to Baba O'Reilly with Louisa on the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Barking Dog Milkshakes.
Canollis in Port Authority Bus Station.
Central Park in the sunshine.
Bobsy's crown.
LSD swingparks.
Jenn's Pokerface.
Manhattan lit up at night from the Staten Island Ferry.
Now I'm back working and it's eating my soul. I dunno if it's a full moon or what, but everyone I speak to is either horrible or stupid. My hatred of people is reinforced once again.
I'm doing a home study proofreading course and I'm really enjoying it. I want to be a freelance proofreader and work from home. It makes me feel content to do it and I think I've finally gotten to the stage where my Uni burnout doesn't stop me enjoying learning.
I've read a lot of books and am currently in the middle of three. I'm reading the Harry Potter series in the wrong order - I cried through most of the last one as usual and now I'm on the 5th, though I keep putting it down cause it annoys me a bit. I fully intend to be dissapointed by the 6th film. And yes I do mean 'intend'.
My niece, Hannah, was christened last Sunday and I had a nice dress for it and we got drunk, Ben made a very mature speech and I was proud.
I've spent the last few days in my pajamas, listening to that old 'Cry Me A River' song on repeat and writing.
I'm kind of tired.
