Like Otters, But Better

On their first date, they bump elbows in the elevator on the way down to the lobby. Jaejoong laughs nervously, smiling at Junsu, rocking back and forth on between his heels and his toes. He whistles when the elevator seems to slow down, swinging his arms nonchalantly. When his hand just so happens to accidentally catch Junsu's, Jaejoong just so happens to decide not to let go. No big deal. No big deal, says Junsu's face when Jaejoong looks out from the corner of his eye. It's so okay that Junsu squeezes his hand, laugh echoing in the elevator. Jaejoong's smile threatens to rip his face apart, but Junsu's quickly letting go when the door dings open to the lobby. He's still staring at his hand when the elevator doors start closing on him, and only snaps out of it when Junsu calls him from the front door, and Jaejoong can hear him laughing still when the doors close completely.
Junsu's blow drying his hair the second time Jaejoong holds his hand. Jaejoong's been yelling his crush confessions from the door, only getting Junsu's occasional smiles in the mirror and avoidance of any eye contact. When he's about five minutes into making hearts with his arms and blowing kisses at Junsu, Jaejoong finally realizes that Junsu is laughing at him. Jaejoong stomps his way over, trying to be heard over the blow-dryer and totally failing. Placing his hand over Junsu's, he clicks the machine off and lowers it. Junsu looks over, smiles and says he'll be done soon and that Jaejoong doesn't have to do all those silly things to make him give the blow-dryer up. Jaejoong just stands there, holding onto the blow-dryer, to Junsu's hand, and pouting. Junsu laughs at him, combing Jaejoong's bangs back, and tells him his hair is really wet.
Mario Kart was designed to be a four player game, which meant whoever was last place had to give up their controller, no if ands or buts; Jaejoong made up the rule himself. He starts to hate the rule though, when he ends up losing every turn he gets. Junsu, on the other hand, has been on a winning streak and Jaejoong is pretty sure that even if Junsu lost no one would want his disgusting Junsu-sweat coated controller anyway. He huffs, stretching across in front of Junsu and handing his controller to Yunho before the next race starts. Junsu teases him about sucking, blasting off as soon as the light turns green. Jaejoong stretches out a foot and pushes at his controller in retaliation and on the screen Toad falls off a narrow strip of Rainbow Road, accompanied by Junsu yelling at Jaejoong to stop being annoying and hey, hey, hey hyung feet are not for handholding. Junsu's first loss of the night has Yoochun and Changmin doing a victory dance. Jaejoong wins a shiny, Junsu-smelling controller.
It figures the one night he gets Junsu to sneak out with him, it pours. They hide out under a food stand, Junsu refusing to eat because it is way, way after 6pm and Jaejoong trying to convince him that they have the best kimbap ever and that he can't not eat it because Jaejoong already bought it. Junsu helps him stuff the two rolls of it into his mouth, calling him Yoochun while Jaejoong feels his cheeks stretch, way too stuffed to even try to pout. The rain dies down and Junsu pulls him along, telling him they should go now before it starts getting heavy again, or so Jaejoong thinks he's saying. He's just staring at his hand, thinks it's being swallowed alive by Junsu's because he's losing feeling in that hand and Junsu's just holding on too tightly and -- And then, Junsu takes his other hand and pulls him and kisses him, right there on the sidewalk, in the rain. Junsu pulls back slowly, and Jaejoong throws their hands into the air, yelling and telling the whole world that Junsu held his hands finally.
(That wasn't a romantic first kiss at all, hyung.)
