ch.9 Well, this was certainly interesting. Jaejoong got up and gestured for Changmin to sit in the seat across from him. Changmin looked nice tonight, really nice. His hair was done differently - more sophisticated, matching the mood of the restaurant they were in. The teen's bangs no longer covered his face, showing off his high cheekbones.
------
He felt dizzy and a bit nauseated. His brows knit together, trying to chase away the headache he was having. Where was he? The bed under him was unfamiliar. Opening his eyes, he slowly came to realize there was someone in the room with him. That someone was looking through his things. Changmin cringed when he recognized the place.
"Excuse me?"
Changmin recognized him, Jaejoong. "Well, that didn't take too long"
"What?" He instinctively curled his limbs closer this his body.
"You're lucky I came around or you probably would have woken to a rather unattractive man inside you."
Changmin sipped the coffee in front of him. So that Jaejoong character asked him for one breakfast together for "saving" him. He looked to his right where Jaejoong was currently staring at him.
"Yes?"
"Well, you take Psychology right? It's shown in studies that people are more likely to agree when sitting side by side."
Changmin only rolled his eyes, not sure if he wanted to know the question that was going to be asked.
"You've been staring at him all night. Want me to buy you a lap dance or something?" Yoochun cracked up beside Jaejoong.
"Hey!" He half-heartedly slapped his friend off of him.
"Girly slap you got there." He burst into more laughter.
"That's Changmin." Jaejoong wasn't at all surprised when Yoochun suddenly stopped laughing and paid attention. He swore the younger man was bipolar or something, changing expressions at the drop of a dime.
"So that's the one that refused you, huh?"
Jaejoong didn't answer, leaving room for more commentary from his companion. "You're one greedy bastard."
"Come out."
Changmin huffed in the changing room. If there was one thing he hated more than changing in one of these things, it was stepping out of one. He could do that at work, and get paid for letting people look at him in outfits. But for some reason, he agreed to go shopping with Jaejoong. And for some other reason he let the man persuade him to try on a few outfits. He stepped out of the small cubicle-like room.
Jaejoong just stared at him and that bothered him. "So...?"
"Long legs."
"Please try to form a complete sentence when you speak to me."
"...I like your long legs."
"Oh god." Changmin just walked back into the changing room, mumbling something about horny men.
"But you really do look nice." Jaejoong said it casually, like there was nothing abnormal about it.
Then there was silence.
"You've been hanging out with that guy a lot lately."
"Yunho, we're just friends."
Yunho sat up from his bed and pointed a finger at Changmin. "I'm sure he wants some benefits to go along with that friendship."
Changmin pointed back at his friend, but didn’t bother to sit up. "Let's go have a nice dinner tomorrow and talk about it then. I want to sleep right now."
"What is that?"
"My favorite shirt."
"It's purple."
"Purple is my favorite color!"
They went to a seafood restaurant because Changmin got hungry for what seemed like the tenth time today.
Jaejoong used his chopsticks to poke at the meal in front of him.
"You should eat it. It's one of my favorites."
Jaejoong only poked the creature once more. "I don't know. I don't trust jellyfish - dead or alive."
"The edible jellyfish are different from the ones that sting you."
"You can eat mine."
"Do you even have a favorite food?"
"Mmm...pizza...."
"Oh?"
"Spaghetti..."
"Huh?"
A smile graced the younger boy's face. "Everything."
"Everything?"
"Everything."
They were in another changing room, on another shopping trip. Changmin wondered how Jaejoong never tired of shopping. He looked at the man now standing in front of the mirror, observing himself.
"Changmin."
"Hm?"
"Am I attractive?"
"No, you're too girly looking."
Jaejoong tilted his head to the side, still staring at the mirror, reminding Changmin of one of those puppies he saw in a pet shop.
"Are you done yet?"
Jaejoong brought him away from the buildings and people to a field - like one right out from a movie. They sat down at stared at the stars, which seemed a lot brighter away from the town lights. They talked about a lot of stuff, stuff Changmin didn't think he would ever be talking to Jaejoong about.
"What are you staring at?"
"The stars." Changmin didn't look at Jaejoong while responding. "I think mom would be a really bright star."
"You shouldn't say things like that."
"I said 'would be'. Maybe things will be alright."
"I'm sure they will be."
"And who are you to say that?"
"I'm God."
Changmin laughed. "Well I'm atheist, so it doesn’t really matter who you think you are."
He didn't know how it happened, but him and this stranger became friends - weird friends - but friends nonetheless.
Yoochun watched Jaejoong scramble through their kitchen, making god knows what. There seemed to be ten things cooking at once, and he didn't know how that was possible with only one stove, one oven, and one microwave - but he knew that Jaejoong probably made it possible.
"What the heck are you cooking? Junsu's coming over soon and I don't want this place to smell like... whatever this is."
"I'm just preparing a picnic basket."
Yoochun walked into the kitchen and his eyes turned into the size of saucers. "How is all of this going to fit into a picnic basket?"
"Well, I'm not bringing just one."
Yoochun didn't say anything as he watched his friend move around the kitchen - he knew who this was for. And he also didn't want to tell Jaejoong that right now, Jaejoong reminded Yoochun of himself, knowing it probably wouldn't make sense.
"Plus, he's having a hard time so I just wanted to do something he liked. I always drag him shopping with me anyway."
------
Changmin took the seat and was handed a menu from the waiter.
"Sorry I'm late."
"It was only a few minutes."
Changmin waited until the waiter left to speak again. "Your shirt's falling off your shoulder again."
Jaejoong covered his mouth, as if he was going to catch the giggle that escaped, and fixed his shirt.
"That's a horrible way to avoid paying tip." Changmin just shook his head and continued to read the menu.
"You could tell he liked what he saw."
A/N: Well, this took longer than expected. Probably because I was busy with my college search and (the all time favorite) I procrastinated. I'm thinking the next chapter is going to be the last one. It'll be one long chapter - either that or I'll split it... I don't know.
