Game Canon? Let's do it.
Edit. Decided this wasn't a great format for Activity check after all. We'll do something more traditional instead.
In an effort to embrace the world of DCAU, instead of forcing you to dig up threads and painstakingly apply lines over lines of HTML code to make things easy for the mods to check to make sure you’re active we’re going to try a different sort of player participation. Once a month we’ll be giving you a post like this (sans explanation) which will consist of the game’s overall climate, mood and offer a few plot point which you can feel free to act upon. Some things will be mandatory to observe but usually inconsequential other than it’s impact on the game world such as the food shortage we’re starting for this month. Other things are easier to ignore and would be up to the player to act upon. I think you know how that works.
Essentially, how the player participation works month to month is that each player will submit what they see as the most plot relevant threads of the month starting January 7th, the reboot of the game. Said threads will be compiled into an episodic game canon and represented alongside the others in the game’s season. As months go on, tensions will rise and with luck, we’ll have a great season finale and wrap any story arch up with a bang before moving on to something new.
For example, this is what we will consider our game’s “pilot” episode to be.
Joker takes over Gotham City: Here
Joker takes over and creates a prison break, releasing thousands of criminals and turning Gotham in a virtual no-man’s land: Here.
Here comes Slade and Red X to benefit from the Joker’s evil plan, or just information mining: Here
From Jump City, the Teen Titans attempt to reclaim Gotham from Joker’s evil clutches: Here
If things didn’t already go badly enough, the Joker announces on live television that the Titans are now public enemy number one, specifically Beast Boy: Here
And the Titans react accordingly: Here
[While I’m skipping quite a few threads including what I deem to be relevant, BB meeting Brainy which leads to Brainy taking BB into the future, let’s just skip all that and head to the climax.]
And so the people take to the street in protest: Here
Resulting in an explosion of Joker’s smilex which effectively takes out the entire city.
That’s our pilot episode and the RP died pretty soon afterward. This is a concise summery of the events in Villainous 1.0 and I’d like the threads to be similarly plot relevant but feel free to submit some character interaction threads for side story and filler episodes too. The more you can help us with organizing the episodes the better, and I’ll leave the content up to you. After everything is sorted through and compiled they will be available in a link located in the link bar about midway through each month. Your task for the activity check! It will be pretty democratic, majority rules and the like.
Next up is our monthly mod plot prompt. Hopefully you’ll enjoy this, my pets. As one of your wicked game mods it is almost my duty to cause a little suffering to everyone’s characters from time to time. (As if you didn’t already know that! HAH!)
