so, right now i have a job at an animal hospital in the chicago suburbs. i am training as a vet tech, and it is difficult. there are lots of new medical things to learn, and i always seem to come home wondering if i read a result wrong or filled a prescription incorrectly or what have you. not to only point out the down side of my job, everyone i work with is very nice and the atmosphere is generally positive. i like being around the animals all day, and every once in a while i do something well, and am told as much, and it makes my day better.
basically this is a recap to tell you what i really wanted to say:
i almost got my head bitten off by a large dog today.
i was holding him for the vet so she could clean his anal glands and he got squirmy, so another tech came to help hold him up. then he suddenly started freaking out flailing around, and i felt his jaw hit the side of my head and knew that he was trying to bite me. luckily, i avoided the teeth in my ear and just have a bruise on my head and some bruises on my legs where he was trying to push off me. i know that at some point, i'll get bitten, but at least it's starting out easy on me.
in other news, i am struggling in my classes because i work too many hours and also i procrastinate too much. My car is kind of broken and i'm considering getting a newer one, but i don't have time to go car shopping, so i'll probably just end up driving my current one until i blow out a tire or something and am forced to find a car i don't like because i don't have time to shop around. also my living situation is less than ideal, but i haven't been able to find a better place for a better price yet.
all in all, september was a terrible month, and so far, october is not shaping up to be much better.
at least i have football to get me through january if all else fails.
