Suicide club

I am a major fan of Sion Sono's Suicide club series, and have watched both Suicide club and Noriko's dinner table several times. The general issue in the movie is extremely complicated to understand, but I decided to put my current understanding of what exactly is going on in this entry. Hopefully it will make sense.

The train suicide was probably some sort of test set up by Kumiko. Perhaps she wanted to turn everyone into rabbits (remember the lion and rabbit theory from NDT) by creating such an uproar. It makes people question 'Why the hell did these girls kill themselves?' 'Were they all sick of life?' and Kumiko was successful: it DID create an uproar. The idea of suicide was weaved into everyone's mind from then on. Suicide was glorified, and seen as the only way out of the dark pit that is the complicated life. If you listen to what some characters say or do before they kill themselves, for example those four women who branded themselves as nuisances to humanity and wanted to get rid of themselves before they became even more of nuisances, you'll see what I mean.

Some of the people promoting suicide may have also been members of Kumiko's Haikyo, like that comedy duo, the billboard chicks and Dessart, who I'm sure we all remember. Listen carefully to their lyrics. They are actually very important to further your understanding of the current trend of suicide. For example in... Puzzle or Jigsaw puzzle. The song was about finding a place in the world where you belong. And sometimes those who can't 'perhaps I better say so long'. Also remember what that guy in NDT said, the one who was talking to Tetsu about the Suicide club. He did mention that Kumiko ran several organisations, not just Family rental. She also has people masquerading as roles like car mechanics for example. One of her organisations could be that club of those creepy children we see at the end of the first movie.

The suicide at the school I'm honestly not sure about. I think it was just the rush of the moment of being part of an even bigger uproar, and the joke was taken too far.

Genesis and the so called Suicide club? They're just loonies who want to steal the credit for the mass amount of suicides. Because let's face it, that gets your name down in history. That's all they wanted. In reality they had nothing to do with it. They were just attempting to hog the spotlight.

That's all I have for now, but I will continue this rant some other time.
